Why are my Halloween hats gone?

I thought once you get the Halloween hats they stay? And yet I started the game today and now my Halloween hats are gone entirely, instead there's the Christmas hats. Why can't I keep the Halloween hats?

Did you reinstall or something? You can set your PC clock back to October 30th or so and play around a little to get them again.

no, i didn't reinstall. the only thing i did that i'm not sure my friends did was connect my twitch account
