Servers Update (2020.9.9 beta)

Hey all,

So I put out this post a few days ago, and have been working on server fixes. As a result, things have been smoothing out even above 1M players in NA. But now I need to put in longer room codes to really reduce the load, so beta branch has v2020.9.9 (or newer if we find bugs) which can handle 4 or 6 digit codes.

2020.9.9 can join 2020.9.1 rooms, but if 2020.9.9 creates a room, it should always get a 6 digit room code. 2020.9.1 cannot join these rooms!

Is version "2020.9.9" a public beta? I have betas enabled for Among Us but it's still launching as "2020.9.1s" for some reason.

why dont you split the servers? NA1, NA2, EU1, EU2 etc. this way you could automatically add more servers when required, and remove them again when they are no longer required. you should also show us the load of each server, so that we know which one to pick.

Something like that is most likely a deeply structural thing, and as such it could be very hard to implement without rewriting a large part of the code.

I keep getting the same error "Reliable packet 1 (size=14) was not ack'd after 7518ms (9 resends)" I have no clue what this means but I have ethernet and I just bought this game. If it matters I'm launching the game on v2020.9.1s.

I tried to play the game today with my friedns just like any other day but I couldnt enter the game after several try. Our versions are matched and up-to-date, our regions are matched, I entered the code correctly and several different times, our chat languages are matched, and even though I played the same people before, I CANNOT ENTER THEIR GAME. I re-started steam, my computer, my internet, but nothing changed. The game gives me the message of "couldnt find the game". Finally, I thought it's not me who ♥♥♥ a problem (even though I was the only person who couldnt enter the game room) and ask my different friends to be the host, but the same problem occured. This time I tried to be the host and they couldnt enter my game room at first try and my game crahsed. What the hell is happening right now?

Hello, I have a problem, when starting among us, it loads but does not open, when opening it for the second time a red exclamation point (¡) appears in the icon, when it finishes loading it closes

What ports are needed for forwarding? A lot of people can't join games because of networking issue, not because of full servers.
