i solve the pb, it is simple you have to downgrade all you graphic settings at the low then finish the stronghold, in fact the game crash because the battle report fail

Damn I uninstalled in frustration. I’ll try it after I overplay this game Kenshi.

after the battle report you can reset the graphic setting at high but i advice you to set it in the middle because some battle report(it is where it writes "you conquert/defend X territory from Y faction") with some faction like chaos will crash too, another way to solve this issue is to install soulstorm on an old computer

i'm having the same issue, can't seem to find which graphics settings make the difference, and it seems a shame to run it on all low given my computer can definitely handle higher

Save the game just before you win. Then on 'continue campaign' or 'load game' it completes successfuly. No need to change graphic settings.

If you're still having the issue, go to local game files, scroll down to the game's icon and click properties after you click properties go to compatibility and change the compatibility to Windows 98. Doesn't fix Error 183, but does solve the not launching issue. I'm still looking for a solution.

It's using too much ram which causes the crash. The laa patch will work, or grab mod manager as that's a toggle.

I fix this problem, just edit config file - GraphicsConfig, change this: OS NT 6.2, 2048MB Physical Memory to 4096. Easy and simply ;) Enjoi

@constantine.ol.play is correct. Another solution using GraphicsConfig.exe is to run in "Safe Mode" instead of the default "Optimal Mode" when given the choice. This sets all settings to lowest.

There's a "GraphicsConfig.log" if that's what you're talking about?
