It apparently has something to do with the 32 bi application game code not being able to handle a small allocation of RAM buffer size allocated to it. It essentially runs out RAM memory storage at the end of each battle/campaign conquest. So far, Short of re-installing the game, not much has helped. :( The onlt modification I've done is to set the Hardware Cursor value to 0.

Just unzip and copy over the graphics config and Soulstorm exe over your originals in your game directory. (steamapps/common/dawnofwarsoulstorm/)
It supposedly allows the game to access more RAM from the available memory pool and prevents the error 183 from occuring on battle completeion.
For me, this basically involved playing as Dark Eldar, assaulting the Eldar homeworld stronghold on Karuva III (the desert planet) I had saved the game mid battle just before the last two base buildings were to be blown up and technically this winds up the battle and triggers the end battle cutscene. All would proceed normally and then the post battle screen (with wargear reward) was supposed to load up but it caused the error 183 at this point (when the 4 planets are shown on the loading flash screen) Tried a host of workarounds including verifying game cache, to setting compatability mode to windows 98/me, but nothing seemed to work.
NTcore 2.0 reswap basically allowed me to go past the error 183 crash and now I think I'll proceed normally in the campaign, thank god.
If I still experience further problems then I'll be sure to write that down below further.
Good luck, mates.
Thanks man
I had this damned dump file bug and it ruined my campaign, so I followed Khanorama's link. It appears that the NT core patch is no more supported but I found that the same team released a Large Adress Aware patch and instructions.
Juste apply the LAA on Soulstorm.exe and Graphicconfig.exe and it will do the same thing as dl the two NT's exe, it flag them to support 4Gb of RAM.
I crushed the Imperial fortress for the third time and it worked perfectly.
It was driving me mad!!!!!
Thanks
I play the game with the new version of the Unification Mod: https://www.moddb.com/mods/unification-mod-dawn-of-war-soulstorm
and I always get the error if I play with 5 AI players. If I play with 3 AI playerss it works well.
It is 2022 and your solution still works!!! Thanks, mate!
