You need to use a program to make the computer think your ps3 remote is a 360 remote. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0nffpqLNN8 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exAG3N2UWnQ&feature=c4-overview&list=UUjr3R4DRKQrGDE5VNfDIw7w I used those to set my ps3 remote up to work with my computer.

Though currently for me Nidhogg has some issues for me and i'm not sure if this caused it or not, it works with all of my other games that have controller support

Yeah man I have that but it won't recognise that anything is plugged in. my computer recognises it and it works for other games, but ds3tool doesnt see it

Edit: I just tried a regular pc controller and that didn't work either.

I mean in the store page it says "full controller support", So one would expect it to fully support controllers. sigh..

Are you plugging it in correctly? You have to have both the bluetooth portion of the remote and the remote with the ps3 usb cord connected to you computer

It's a corded ps3 controller. It's got drivers and everything.

i use DS3 tool.

In the DS3 tool select the Xinput-Default option that emulates an X360 controller. That got it working for me.

I'm having the same issue, but I'm using a PS4 controller. It doesn't recognize my joystick either, though that's not surprising. It's so old it has a USB adapter.

DS3tool or x360ce

I have DS3tool. It doesn't recognize the controller. It would seem that it is already recognized by the computer and works like any other gamepad would, but it isn't working with the game for some reason.

If the controller is recognized by Windows, you can use JoyToKey to map your joystick buttons to the keyboard.

Thanks to beastmaster, JoyToKey works just perfect for Nidhogg.
