- do not even think of private online matches

I can give you 8,5/10 for your autism, but not more, sorry.
Mechanics count for nothing when they don't even work at all online.
Private online matches are just as broken as any other Nidhogg online matches. This game is a terrible ripoff, truly and honestly.
I will admit it is nice to know they're not just spitting in my face saying screw online, but this problem should have been addressed within a few days of the game's release, not months after when a lot of people have probably lost interest in the game.
EDIT: It is now months later and Meshoff has not updated a thing, nor are they planning to. So not only are they fraudulent, but they are willing to straight up lie to their fans and donators faces.
And Maze: Good work calling a quarter of the world population "braindead autists." Classy move.
"get some friends to play with" I think that's one of the dumbest statements people say on the Nidhogg forums. The find friends thread is useless because the person who isn't the host will always have extreme problems which leaves local multiplayer the only working option, and my friends don't wanna have to drive over to my house just to play this when we can play literally almost any other game online together just fine.
It'll be nice when it works, but until then this game is truly overpriced garbage.
It is a 'simple' game sure, but it is a perfectly designed one. there really arent many games out there that can be called perfectly designed but this is one.
Its a game for parties, not one for solo play. next time you have some friend round, launch this game up. explain nothing. 10 mins later everyone will be fighting over challening the victor of the previous match. hilarity will ensue.
a tad expensive but our perception of value for money on games has been skewed from steam sales. this is a game made by one guy, he needs credit. if you love the games industry, this is the kind of game you want to support.
EDIT: functional online play will be amazing, and it is being worked on. but even then online play will never be the same as the chaos of a group of people around one screen.
you dont have friends that come over a lot? okay the game probably isnt for you, but that doesnt make it a bad game.
I'd like to know exactly what doesnt work as advertised.
The online matchmaking is a bit crap at the moment but is being worked on, its a legitimate complaint but one that is temporary.
What is a scam about this? the trailers, the store and the description pefectly explain what this game is, and what its content is. there is no misleading information, no unnecisary hyping up making things seem more than they are.
Its not a game for everyone granted, but the fact remains it is EXACTLY as advetised and does everything it intends to do.
EDIT: if you want to see 'scam' games, yknow real ones, look up "Day Z" or any of the countless early access games that have mysteriously absent dev teams.
I suppose calling it a scam is a bit harsh now that we know that the online is supoosed to improve, but until just a few days ago there was absolutely no word from the dev if anything was being worked on at all. It took over a month just to get a simple "we're working on it".
It says there is online multiplayer when in fact it doesn't work correctly to the point of unplayability. That is what is not working as advertised, I don't see why this seems to be such a difficult concept to grasp.
If they had said: "Online multiplayer works perfectly fine across any distance at all times." THEN it wouldn't have worked as advertised.
