Monster Girl Island: Prologue

Three questions about MGI:P (Otakus will hate me for this)
Hello. A repressed red-blooded male here.

I just posted these three questions on another monster girl-themed game, with three girls to choose from. I've been seeing this one advertised left and right and my disgusting inner idiot keeps wanting to return and take a look, so... here I am with the same questions, on a game with many more.

Basically, I've avoided romance and especially sex games for a lot of reasons, and now before I download anything I'm going to regret (even more than I already would), I have to ask about the big ones for this game. If anyone will humor me on these, I thank you.

I am sorry; these will sound stupid, especially to those of you who, unlike me, like anime.

1. Is the protagonist here a rude wimp? One thing I notice often is that protags in these harem things tend to be complete pushovers- and/or, in the rare instances that they are not, they're rude as hell and treat the females like ♥♥♥♥. I need to know if that's what's to be said about the protag in this one- or if he actually has some guts and some manners alike.

2. Hoo-boy, bring on the hyper-liberal hate for this one... I for one really hate how in almost every multiple-choice romance game there's at least one option that turns out to have been homosexual the whole time. Most fellas like that, I know, especially R34 artists, but that kind of detail actually turns me off and away. I'd like to know now if that's the case for any of the monster girls on this island, or if they're actually all sincerely straight girls.

3. Are the girls here interesting and unique? Not just visually, but I mean in personality and backstory. Even aside from the first two points, I notice that with very few exceptions the girls in Japanese/anime stuff, especially VN's, tend to have personalities and backstories less interesting than cardboard planks.

Again, sorry if this all seems stupid. These are my main qualms with the romance game genre, so I want to know if this game subverts these or not.

I misread, Sayuri could be considered an issue from what you're talking about but she doesn't have any scenes in prologue and some of her dialogue during the interlude may help alleviate your fears.

1 depends on the answer you choose... i dont think the protag is wimpy or rude, passive and clueless is what i would rate the protag as, about as clueless we all are when we start a new game.

2 from what ive seen of this demo, there is only 1 male, you, the protag.

3 this is a demo without the routes for the girls, it says in the description its about 1/3 of the main game, so i cant say if they are superficial, because its only a demo, so dont expect Games of Thrones depth of character.

1 since it's only a demo your choices don't really matter nor will they actually affect anything other than a few dialogues after the choice (or turn you away from lewd scene). There are some rude answers but so far they are there just to give a bit more minor text variance. Not sure if things will change later though.

2 your concern is actually a thing, but to an opposite extreme. The girls (though who has lewd scene in the demo) are all so weirdly attracted to you like you know some sort of charming magic. And there is only one male, so no, there's no ♥♥♥♥ of any kind.

3 you know in Japan this sort of games has 3 categories: those that focus more on characters and stories, those that emphasizes on implying sex elements, and those that fall in between. What you worry about is what considered bad and idiotic scripts if they are found in the first type, or even in the mixed type. But it's also non-sense if you force the second type to have covered background stories and personalities in detail. They all exist for a reason, and there's nothing that makes the first type more supreme than the second type. The only real deal here will be your preference.

I'd say this game is of the second type moving towards the third type. You can see the creator trying to put together a main story that drives the process of the whole game, and there are also memories of the girls that contributes nothing to arouse you. Yet, as it has been mentioned multiple times, this is only a demo, your choices don't get to affect the story, no matter how much you know. At this stage most girls don't even have like more than 100 lines outside of lewd scenes, you really can't say what's going to happen later on.

I bet it's not going to change a lot though.

Sorry for taking so long to respond.

Thank you for your responses. At the very least, your answer on number 2 is a big relief.

Even if 1 and 3 don't change, assuming 2 doesn't either I may honestly try this one.

You're being pretty vague, here.

So, there is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to worry about? And what's this about this "Sayuri"?

The first part is pretty clear and I don't know your tolerance threshold so it's best to just find out for yourself, although judging by your language you should be fine.

Ah, well. I guess it is what it is. Thank you for answering.
No clue if you're still interested in this game or if you've played it already, but to clarify any confusion, there is no other male characters in this version of the game. The creator is still working on a full version and he is planning to add a "trap" character to the full game. However, the character is being presented as male and there is no surprise involved. The character is being presented as a feminine looking boy. On top of that, any and all lewd scenes in this game are completely optional. Anything that you aren't into you can simply skip.
