Everything is just 'undefined'

Came back to this game after waiting for the final chapter to release, but when I load up and go into Settings, the title says 'undefined' and there's pages of settings that all say 'undefined'. The title page also says "the dream machine undefined undefined" and all the Load Game slots say "undefined". Even if I wanted to start over, all chapters are grayed out and say 'undefined' (I own them all and played 1-5 before).

Also noteworthy: I'm on Windows 10 Pro, not Windows 8. All latest updates, drivers, etc. I've verified integrity (and reinstalled, too). A little help?

After restarting my PC entirely, I had Steam re-check the integrity and it re-downloaded a thousand files totaling nearly a GB. I suspect Steam had files locked, or something. After launching now, these problems are gone.
