Still cant brake when using controller to drive cars since farcry5 !!

i am using a XBOX ONE controller and still cant use LT to brake. it just says "action brake". Is there any way to solve this?

I bought a ps4 controller, solved it for me. Didn't know they were plug n play now.

Try launching right from uPlay. That solved it for me.

I'm having this same issue. It makes driving really annoying because you just get completely stuck if something's in front of you since you can't reverse.

Fix for controllers for farcry new dawn and farcry 5
THIS SHOULD FIX FOLLOWING CONTROLLERS " XBOX360, XBOX ONE, DUALSHOCK 4" , SO THEY WORK PROPERLY IF GAME PURCHASED THROUGH STEAM:

Must follow exactly. This is a UPLAY / STEAM conflict. What you’ll see is that when you load the game with STEAM the bindings for some buttons disappear somehow inside the game thus there is no Reverse, Ascend, or Descend for vehicles. Do this and it should work and the only way I have gotten the buttons to work:

1) Go to Steam Big Picture Mode and go to Controller settings.
2) UN -CHECK all boxes so there are NO controllers checked. THIS STEP IS IMPORTANT AND MUST BE DONE
3) Completely EXIT and CLOSE Steam.
4) Open UPLAY.
5) Have controller plugged into PC Select game and LAUNCH.
" Use Xbox 360, Xbox One, or Dualshock4 controller ".
6) Play game!
7) PLEASE RESPOND THAT IT HAS WORKED ON THIS FORUM TO HELP OTHERS SEE!!

NOTE: Nintendo Switch Pro Controller not Supported!! I could not get to function.
NOTE: STEAM CONTROLLER NOT TESTED. SORRY I DO NOT HAVE ONE.

If the above directions followed, the controller and all buttons will work. What you are doing is loading the game from UPLAY. As you will see UPLAY will then Launch the desired game through Steam but with NO CONTROLLERS SELECTED IN STEAM CONTOLLER SETTINGS, the game will play with the UPLAY and Farcry game being played default controller settings and will bind the buttons correctly. I trust and hope this helps everyone with the controller issues.

Thanks for getting in touch and helping us spot this thread TALONZ, glad to see this workaround of disabling the Steam controller inputs in the Steam options, helping get the controller inputs to work as required and to display the correct button prompts.

I will move this to our Player Support section as it may help other players with the same issue, thanks for posting.
