Grain Filter?
I feel like the whole game so far (first 30 minutes) has been playing through a grain filter, dont see anyway to turn that off either, very ugly and annoying, any ideas?

Just turned it off for the night but tbh I never noticed it.

Now I'm dreading playing it tomorrow and noticing it.

Grain is necessary to prevent colour banding. There's a reason almost all modern games use some form of it.

anyone know if the grainy effect can be smoothed out? I hear of a HD pack but no idea where to find it.

But you can turn it off in most modern games, and for me, all games look better without it.

The HD pack made no difference for me, still grainy at 1440.

lol but it wasnt anywhere to be found in far cry 5, so forgive me for being irritated
Oh and heres an observational update. I notice the filter is most noticeable at night, a lot of areas during day time you cant even tell its on. I also noticed when i went down into a bunker and came back outside the filter seemed completely absent

I hope someone finds a way to turn it off.

I hate film grain in games, drives me mad normally but I'm not seeing it at all in this, so not sure what's going on.

I'm playing at 3840x2160.
Everything maxed apart from motion blur which is off. HD Textures are on. HDR10 is enabled. Purchased on Uplay store.

The problem is caused by HDR, AFAIK.

But I'm using HDR and I'm not having the issue.

Did you turn the HD pack on? After you install it the default is turned off. You have to go into the settings and turn it on. Will require a restart of the game.

Yup, made sure it was on right after I downloaded it. All it did was drop my FPS by 5, didn't look any better, and the grain effect still is there.
