So weapon upgrades are a bad idea because they make the enemy stronger?
As an experiment, this time around I saved one outpost until I'd gotten my weaps upgraded. Sniper rifle was doing 2640 in damage. I went to the level 1 outpost, shot 2 different opfor, doing 2640 damage to both, BOTH OF THEM SURVIVED. At this point since that's a level 1, it really seems as if upgrading weaps makes the enemy stronger. Does anyone have a chart of weapon impact points vs opfor health points? Is it REALLY worth the effort and hassle collecting ethanol to upgrade weaps if it makes even the enemy stronger even on level 1 outposts? Seriously, I like the game but COMMON SENSE dictates that upgrading one's weapons SHOULD MAKE IT EASIER TO KILL THE ENEMY. Am I missing something?
UPDATE: Since the outpost in question was north, I went back down south to the first outpost. By the time I'd gotten there I'd upgraded the rifle more. Lvl 2 guys on the road, 2880 damage didn't kill them

probably broken cause of the upgrading system once you have main base lvl 3 and work bench maxxed you can do unlimited upgrades to i think lvl 3 or lvl 4 weapon's i think its lvl 4 not 3 been awhile since i been on would have to verify that

they just keep upgrading no limit so you become god with the right weapons

Elite-ranked weapons are the highest tier and best weapons in the game. However, you can further upgrade them and increase their damage by 5% by spending a fixed amount of resources, including ethanol and hard-to-find ones like Carbon Fiber. These are permanent upgrades which will even make your weapon of choice a whole lot deadlier. My personal recommendation would be the bow, LMG or grenade launcher or the sniper rifle. Both are perfect for most combat scenarios.

Once the workbench reaches LV3, you can infinitely upgrade your weapons using replenish-able resources like Ethanol. This means you’ll have to scavenge 3-star outposts over and over again. You can do this operation on any workbench. Once you're able to one-shot or melt Enforcers, it will be a waste of time and materials to increase the damage of your weapons any further.

You are level 2 (?) and couldn't kill a level 1 bad guy with a headshot?

Headshot or not, if I'm taking a level 1 base, which in the beginning I believe the opfor only had like 100 points or something like that, if I do 2640 damage they should die. BTW it happened a 3rd time as well on the same lvl 1 base. Next time I play I'm going to chart the damage it takes to kill as I upgrade. Try to see if upgrading weaps makes it MORE difficult instead of easier.

Never been a fan of this level ♥♥♥♥ in FC (New Dawn/FC 6), but if you use a sniper rifle you go for a headshot. In FC 6 you can kill the bad guys easy even if they have a "higher" level/rank.
As i remember New Dawn you can kill higher level bad guys (Armor Piercing) with a headshot. The damaging points you refering to is crap anyway and only in New Dawn.
Upgrading weapons making it more difficult to kill is not my experince.

Happy gaming!

RE: If you use a sniper rifle you go for a headshot, both in this game and in actual combat headshots aren't a given, especially on a moving target. The point is if I do a massive amount of damage to an enemy on a lvl 1 outpost it should kill them. Next time around I'm going to not upgrade weaps, then I'll keep track of the damage needed as I progress. Perhaps the damage is linked to the home base level. At any rate, thanks for the responding.

As you upgrade the bad guys get tougher. It takes a headshot to break a helmet and another to kill. You wouldn't want it too easy, would you? You need to upgrade weapons to kill the tougher foes that come along. Of course, it all depends on what weapons you are using to begin with.
