Will Far Cry ever explain all of it's supernatural nonsense?
There is always something weird going on with Joseph Seed. He's more than just some crazy guy who believes in God. He seems to know things and have weird powers. What the heck is going on??

Far Cry isn't exactly a franchise famous for story. Character yes but not story.

But how that works is never explained. It just does whatever the plot needs.

The Bliss is connected to the tree. In Far Cry 5, there is a tree with white flowers that you glimpse in your visions. The Bliss comes from white flowers. In Far Cry New Dawn, there is a literal tree with pink flowers that bears magical fruit. (It's very similar to the strange substance in Far Cry 4 that caused people to have strange dreams and to turn into Yetis.) The landscape is covered in pink flowers. When the bliss is burned in New Dawn, it burns pink.

The Bliss gives people access to a supernatural reality. It makes them stronger. It shows them the truth. Similar drugs appeared in Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 and Far Cry Primal. In Far Cry 3, you took a strange drink, and it revealed certain truths, showed you people you hadn't met yet. In Far Cry 4, you had powder blown in your face, and you were shown a vision of what the Golden Path really were. Who Sabal and Amita were behind closed doors. In Primal, you drank a number of drugged substances and dreamed of things to come, including a mysterious event involving a great flash of light called "The End of All Things", which may very well have been the end of Far Cry 5. In the Far Cry games, drugs typically show you the truth. Whatever the truth may be.

Joseph Seed heard a voice. The voice is genuine. It tells him things. What the voice really is doesn't matter. Faith also has (had) supernatural insight, but it's likely a side effect of The Bliss. Joseph was hearing "The Voice" long before the Bliss was involved.

I really don't think the drugs are all connected through the series. If it was that important there would be more backstory, surely.

This is the problem I have though. If there is an actual insightful voice that only one guy can hear and if there is something special about the Bliss then I absolutely would like to know more about everything and where it came from.

Oh, the bliss...

Wow I never made that connection... Yeah there are very similar drug effects in several Far Cry games, bordering on supernatural/magic.

For that matter, Seed's hunters are very much like the hunters in FC4 (including the animal taming) and the final FC5 boss is a lot like the yetis of FC4

I'm going with " Nope ".
Oh ye Far Cry noobs ;) There are 2 and only 2 things that connect the Far Cry games: They're first person shooters and they're called Far Cry.

There's no real connection other than a rinse repeat strategy of late, aka it's just a game ubi sells.

Because this is an action game, not an Oscar driven movie. Stop over thinking and shoot stuff. Otherwise there are plenty of other genres with deeper stories and mysteries to solve.

Nah there at least 2 entries without them. FC PC and FC2

OMG that was one of my favorite bits... (having lived through all the various anti-drug campaigns of the 80s)

FC2 had a healthy bit of drug use as well. FC1 wasn't a drugs exactly, but there was a mutagen, so... Sure, I'll count it.
