India = Nepal (setting of Far Cry 4)
America = Hope County (setting for Far Cry 5 and New Dawn)
so Alaska may be the setting for the upcoming Far Cry
This is only a theory though I came across while watching some youtube videos, unfortunatly I couldn´t find the original video where I´ve got this from. But at least in my opinion it makes sense or is at least a better explanation for the nuclear war targets than we have at the moment :D
Realistically, you'd probably need a way to somehow sabotage all the SLBMs, or to an incredibly successful propaganda campaign to dissuade a launch along the lines of "having a few humans alive is better than having none, so please don't take revenge and kill everybody else."
Alaska could be possible, They did have some winter missions in Far Cry 4
