Roster AI is too dumb
As the tittle says guys, please do something about it, even in elite they suck picking fights and dealing with enemies, they are more a nuisance that contributes.

You might have more enjoyment if you try micro managing them a little - that's what I try to do and have a lot more fun with them. Tell your companion to hide in the bushes off to the side of a good ambush point as an example and then you hit an enemy close to your side and tell you companion to hit an enemy on his side. A lot more fun that way. Same when doing outposts - I keep my companions (usually a stealth companion) on the edge of the outpost and have them take a dude out here and there undetected and then have them re-hide.

I have no idea what "Roster IA is too dumb" is even supposed to mean.

He's talking about the AI that controls your companions.

Most of them are completely useless. The worst is the rocket launcher goof from the original game who fires directly at you in melee or blows himself up.

The hog is the best IMO, he heals himself so you don't waste time baby sitting him. He's a bulldozer with everything else and a great distraction.

i had to babysit Carmina and Hurk to get them over 10 kills then they started carrying their own weight. Oddly i didnt have that problem with anyone else. Hell, i had Horatio rank all the way up to max on one expedition.

Yea get Horatio at the farm Northwest of the pantry outpost, he is extremely useful and the best one in my opinion

I generally use the animal based companions in games, just cause I get tired of hearing others repeat the same dialogs all the time when they go around with me

I have already unlocked Horatio in my roster, I am going to try him, I was trying to run with Nana, which is completly useless, it take too m uch time aiming and at close range sucks, it says it have a silencer but as soon as she shoots its spoted lol...The priest is another useless too...and carmina its a little more usefull than the priest... timber in the other hand is quite usefull to find materials.
They keep running into my gun fire and getting hit, that’s annoying, but I think they can also be useful, like Nana to pick off some ‘hoodlums’ from a distance…

i found nana to be useful in taking outposts. i target the enemy then she pops em. the enemy only gets aggro when they spot their ally get taken down

Hurk blowing up ethanol trucks you want to capture in early game before you farm tier 3 outposts are the worst.

Looks like the roster gets a tinny bit better when they are elite but they still fight like morons lol, I have to tell them what to do every time with binnovs because if I go rambo they do the same and most of the time sucks...

Nana is amazing. She can clear rank 3 outposts with no guns for hire upgrades.

I agree the AI needs work, though. I sometimes have to wait a while for her to figure out she can't shoot through a rock.

Lol Horatio with outposts is awesome too, ya hide in the grass, and direct him to attack the enemies, and he will most of time take out the entire outpost and get ya the undetected bonus when its completed, don't even have to disable the alarms either

The only acception is horatio can't reach the ones on top of buildings which my silenced gun will easily take care of to finish them off

The only good ones are Horatio and Timber IMO, just like boomer and cheeseburger in Far Cry 5. They instantly kill and support you, while humans just have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ gun, cant aim, are too slow, retarded AI...

I enjoy reading how everyone plays the game differently.

I prefer archery whenever possible for the majority of the game. I never take a companion along with me as I enjoy stealth, and always take out the alarms for a better reward. I do agree that the AI is still not much of a challenge. That was one of my complaints with FC5 even after they updated it. Just too easy.
