Riding derby mission - very easy

I was struggling to win the Riding Derby mission, you can only fire your handgun. Then I thought I could maybe outrun everyone, but failed.
So I tried to get out of my car at the start. I didnt know if I could, as the mission is called "riding".
But I could!
Just when the race starts get out of the car, head left for the bridge. Get under it. Now you can use all your guns and keep cover. Just shoot every enemy that drives past. Switch now and then to the other side of the bridge or get a lootbox for new ammo and get back under the bridge.
Easy!
Dont know why they made it possible to get out the car in a derby.

Awesome, i hate racing games, I need to do this, been putting it off and instead just been running all over the map trying to get all the collectables and any side quests done first etc.

However this strategy is something I would enjoy :p

Because Ubisoft games prioritize player freedom. Same reason you can jump down into the arena on a mission where you're officially supposed to be sniping. Maybe you don't want to snipe enemies. It's kinda like how a lot of missions in Far Cry 5 can be solved by getting a helicopter and firing rockets at everything.

Also derby controls are pure garbage and derby missions should be optional given just how garbage the game interface is for that.
