Just one boss?

I was hoping this game would actually have a lot more content, each area just seems pretty much the same every run, with the same objectives. And the single boss at the end, that just being about it. There isn't really anything in terms of randomly generated, seems like a real lack of just over all content. For whatever reason I thought this was still early access and they'd be adding a lot more to it.
Do they have any plans to add more content or is this just what we get?
