Can't Continue the Wavelengths DLC

I made it all the way to winter last night and was going to finish it today. I go to play and it says I can't because I haven't finished the base game. So there's clearly something wrong with my save file. Except when I look at the save file in-game the file still says that I'm on the winter chapter of the dlc. So seemingly the game has saved my dlc progress but has lost my base game progress because all of my choices are gone too. So now I don't know how to continue the dlc without replaying everything which sucks. Would really appreciate some help here. I was so close to the end and I really don't want to replay the entire base game and the dlc just to experience that final chapter. I even got every achievement and I'm still not allowed to continue the dlc. Please help.

I am having this exact same issue. I wonder if it has something to do with saving during winter? Either way, Im really bummed that I can't continue the DLC. The main game is so long it would just be annoying to play through again.

I have this issue too. I saved in winter and went to bed. The next day I couldn't access the save because I need to play the main story, as it appears my base game save is gone

I have the same issue, but this happened to me during the summer. I had JUST got the record from the back room, and called it quits for that day. Then the next day, I got the error message telling me that I need to beat the main game to play the DLC.

All my main game progress is gone, but the save file with a check mark next to it is there. It shows my DLC progress. So I’m not sure what to do. Even made a post about it. Hoping if more people makes posts, maybe Square will look into it.

Having a similar issue. My save game is gone and now i cant start wavelenghts anymore. I was not that far in the dlc tho - but still i dont want to replay the main game

I also am having this issue. I logged back into my game after taking a break for a bit to finish the DLC and got the message saying i need to finish the game to play the DLC. Super bummed because I really don't want to play through the entire game again just to play the DLC. This bug is very frustrating.. I even have all the achievements to prove i finished the game.. I payed for this DLC and not being able to play it without playing through the entire game is very frustrating. Hope something will be done to fix this.

yeah. I check every couple weeks to see if it's fixed. Not sure if Square is aware of it, but hoping they are.

I just ran into a similar bug. I sent a ticket straight to Square's customer service. Fingers crossed I get some answers.

Same problem here. Started it last night and tonight it is telling me to complete the base game before starting.

Got in contact with the support team and received the reply

"Unfortunately, if you do not have another save file to revert to then we would advise that you replay the last chapter of the main game and then try accessing Wavelengths again."

Guess best option is to restart and make sure there is a backup before restarting Wavelengths.

Unfortunately, i had the same problem yesterday...
But yes, guess we have to replay the main game, make a save state of it and then start wavelengths again, too
If we want to pause in-between, we have to have the savestate ready :/
That's a bit annoying, but there seems to be no other choice
(LiS 1 had a different file saving method than this game has, so maybe that's the problem here and why it can't be continued)

I can't believe it's 2024 and I have THE SAME issues as all of you. Man, this is frustrating as h3ll. Omg, they should at least let us play the DLC from the beginning, not having to start the original game all over again... Since Steam saves all of our achievements/trophies of the whole game, it doesn't make any sense not allowing us to play Wavelengths, even with the save being lost.... I'm MAD!
