Does LiS:TC's story have anything to do with lgbt?

5/4/2023 Update after completing the whole game:
The game is greater than I had originally expected and LGBT didn't seem to get in the way of the story, atleast for me. Maybe because I made a decision of giving the opposite gender a rose. Regardless, I'm more than satisfied with it.

I played the whole first LiS game and I didn't really mind Max or other characters being LGBT since it didn't impair the story or the gameplay, which is great because I could just focus on the game itself. Is it the same in this game? Does the story revolve around LGBT to any extent?

I'm not trying to be offensive and I apologize if I sound so or if I asked a rather rhetorical question, but I'd rather buy and enjoy an atmospheric choice game like LiS S1 instead of a game which focuses on promoting particular political views.

The only real point where LGBTQ content plays a role is with the choices you can make, and the Steph's story DLC thing.
Since she's a Lesbian.

There is one canonical lesbian character (Steph Gingrich) and you can choose whether Alex identifies as gay, straight or bi, but, aside from having the option to pursue different romantic options as a very minor side element (which you can also choose not to engage with at all), there's no impact on the story.

It's pretty equivalent to the Warren-Max-Chloe triangle in the first game.

The game does push a particular political view - that murder is bad - and there are examples of abuse of political influence by a big corporation, but nothing I'd describe as controversial politics.

What it all boils down to is just the two romance options you can choose between. Regular guy who looks like a mix of lumberjack and golden retriever or lesbian girl who loves beanie hats. They don`t push some LGBTQ agenda or something like that to you, up to you how you want to play it.
Agenda is just your usual fighting the big bad mining corporation that has hold on this town.

Yeah I'm the one starting a flame war here when you're implying a game revolving around LGBT would impair a story or gameplay or promote "particular political views", when in fact LGBT goes way beyond politics. So what if it did? Why is that such a big deal?

Because I think the plot in LiS2 was terrible. The first two games were great because I played and loved both and didn't notice anything LGBTQ about them - at the time at least, and even now I doubt it has anything to do with it specifically. But yes, there is one trans character in True Colors (Izzie), and there are LGBTQs basically everywhere. The main character is specifically bisexual (as opposed to playersexual for Max in LiS1), Steph is a homosexual, there is a couple of two homosexual men picnicking at the park, there is a pride sign at the music store and there are other places in the game that depict the rainbow and queerness. Chloe describes herself as a member of the LGBTQ+ in the DLC (which is quite a different depiction of her from the previous games), the name of the game is 'True Colors' and the special power is empathy and the ability to sees the auras of the people. Alex struggles with identifying her emotions. The game itself had a fundraiser for LGBTQ+ rights. All this in itself doesn't make it a bad game (although I think it's bad compared to the first two), but don't fool yourself this is a game that celebrates gender diversity through and through.
