Not even one game you mentioned has nothing with LIS franchise, so stop calling it like that
Let’s compare True Colors: 1 event 2 hours into the first chapter.
Issue is SQENIX bought the LiS trademark, booted the original devs and now they can do whatever want with it.
Since the original LiS was unique and a great succes SE will try to get everything out of the brand, like Disney did after they bought Pixar or Lucasarts.
So pretty much none of it's successors will be able to repeat the original game experience, since it was new and unique that time.
I absolutely agree. BUT I’ll say it one more time and I’m ready for all your “if you like lis 2 you have no taste” comments - I played LiS 2 for the first time two years after the original release and now it’s my fav game ever. I never expected it to be good cause you know, no Max, no Chloe - supposed to be bull…. But I was pleasantly surprised when I found out how real and amazingly detailed new main characters were. So I was kinda expecting the franchise to continue doing good and honest work, not just using the name.
Anyways, not saying True colors is bad. It’s just not what LiS is.
True. and honestly LiS died for me the moment Chloe & Rachel died in LiS 1
LiS 2 was okay, but didn't catch me like the original did.
D9 did a good job with BTS, but BTS was developed in cooperation with the origian devs, so it still had some LiS vibes
LiS TC This one is produced completly without Dontnod and from what I've seen so far it seems D9 doesn't have to balls in taking risks by issuing some controversity in LiS 3.
No mindblowing stuff so far. Seems LiS went pretty causual now.
Like the type of game you play and forget after a few weeks
But Telltale Game didn't charged absurdly expensive values for their games.
And yet it went bankrupt.
EDIT: Yes, I know that the price is probably determined by the publisher (Square Enix), and I can't understand this strategy.
