There are some oddities about when you can talk to Edna and/or the Priestess. See below: If you don't give the hellish tome to Edna (vampire dungeon) before you show her the pentagram on your hand, she won't talk to you. It seems to stop that questline. Similar deal for the priestess. I advanced Edna's plotline all the way to the demon realm, then received a holy missal (moon dungeon) to give to the Priestess.
