No graphic settings?
Really? No graphic settings AT ALL? Only resolution?
Thats WEAK.
Also the game looks like its straight ripped from the VITA version, the PS3 version of PLUS looked much better in the texture department.
At least its consistent 60 FPS but still disappointing for the price asked.
Seems like another zero efforts porting job from Koei Tecmo.

Also, forced big picture mode. WHY? Dragon Quest XI already pulled this crap.
I dont see the point.

Unfortunately 4K isn't working well (at least in the current version of the game), it's just upscaled and not native 4K...

It looks great! Even if has the not-aliased look (diagonals) on the model, some textures and text looks extremely good in your screenshot. Looks awesome!
I have the PS4Pro version here, I will test later on PC to see the differences.
Just checked Totori, and that one does work at native 4K, and I can even force SMAA with reshade to make it better, unlike Rorona, so it's possibly a bug on Rorona?

EDIT: Checked Meruru as well, and it doesn't look like native 4K either, so out of the 3 games, only Totori is working fine for me... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Porting the lower quality version again?
THEY CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT!

PC version looks identical to the PS4 version, so if the PC version is a port of the Vita version (I don't believe it), so is the PS4 version.

Here is a comparison. If the store screenshot is representative of the game, the PS3 version upscaled in RPCS3 looks better and less pixelated (but more blurry) than the PC version. What in the world?

Keep in mind that this is not the original PS3 Rorona, but Vita/PS3 "New Rorona" or "Plus" as it became known here in the west.

So be careful when comparing details with them as they are diferent releases in more ways than one.

He posted Rorona+ in that comparison. Original Rorona had a different UI and different character models.

Exactly, but we had people pointing out the diference textures in the seat/bench in that screen shot as if that was something taken from the Vita release, while failing to mention that while the textures are diferent, the current one being used is certanly at least 1080p one, while the original PS3 one (and the new plus version as well, according to you) are blurred even on 720p rendering.

About the seat/bench texture, I checked a few videos, and that texture is in both PS3 and Vita versions of Rorona Plus, but it isn't there for either PC and PS4 versions, so it's something that changed with the new release.

Yeah, i honestly think they changed it because it was quite obvious they used the same carpet texture for the bench decor and the carpet itself (and it looks really... bad with both objects in the same scene and same camera shot).

Maybe as they were retouching the game, someone noticed that and decided to change it.

If anything I'm pretty sure it's blurry because of emulation issues, since he said it was in RPCS3.

It's blurry on a native PS3 as well, your mileage may vary depending on what TV/Monitor you hook the PS3 to (and on the emulator it looks even worse if you run the game on a res thats above the original game's) but the texture itself is way lower quality by default.

Btw, I am only talking about the carpet in that scene, cause most of the textures are seemly unchanged.

Any graphics mods or ways to force AA? etc. I've been holding out on playing these even though I've bought hoping the community would fix the issues. I literally own all 6 plus games on the Vita. If I wanted to play those versions I'd use my Vita TV and replay em lol. I'm pissed, I wanted 4K versions with higher res assets. Obviously I didn't expect it to be 4K assets. But it's AA basically is non existent and it's 1080p. I feel the PS4 and Switch versions likely look better lol which sucks on my end because I bought Steams over PS4's because I was thinking it'll definitely be the best version

Toggle your desktop screen to 4k and it should show up in the game's config.

Dunno if you can use AA, but if your GPU can handle it, you dont really ever need AA if you can upscale above your default res.
