I used the Windows utility that makes it open like windows xp sp2 and administrator. I found it in a other thread. It takes you through some steps for OLDER SOFTWARE, take a look in your system options for SOFTWARE menu.

I wouldn't really worry about the original Supreme Commander, Forged Alliance is the same, just a more balanced gameplay, a new faction, and more units.

yeah... I get that error code for all my steam games... I've only tested out TF2 and supreme commander, they both come up with Application error 0xc0000005. I'm going to try to run it in admin

nevermind, I ran administrator and it didn't work. There was no SupCom.exe under bin, it just had Supreme commander, and SupComDataPath.lua. Niether worked still got the error 0xc0000005

I also had this kinda problem. But I fixed it. I made it this way: 1. Go to the file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Supreme Commander 2.Rightklick on on the file SupremeComander (the file wich you use to run the game) 3.Choose the option under run as Admin and let search for problems 4.It should found something and then chose the first option Thats it. On my Laptop it runs now again. Hope I could help you.

I ran the program as an admin and that didn't work. So I opened the compatibility troubleshooter and this is where im stuck. I selected windows xp sp2 but when it said to try running the program I pressed the button and nothing happened. It still doesnt work after that and I tried sp3

Same problem here. I have a i7 and an Nvidia 680GTX. Application error 0xc0000005. And I have the Gold edition. Both games. It worked fine on my other system. An i5 with a 560ti. Hopefully people keep posting on this so we can resolve this....I love this game man!!! (gonna turn off hyper threading real quik and try to launch it...)

I have this same issue. If i start the game without using compatability or starting as administrator I get application error 0xc0000005 and if I start the game with compatability set as windows xp service pack 2 or 3 and administrator priviledges I get application load error 5:0000065434.

I'm using windows 7 64bit and forged alliance works fine. I'm also pretty sure I've played supcom 1 on this system before a while ago but for some reason it doesn't work now.

Edit: Somehow it's now working. I didn't change anything from when it wasn't but I'm just going to not change anything anymore and enjoy the game!

I went to the .exe in the bin folder and changed compatability to Windows XP Service pack 3 and checked the "run as admin" box. Works for me. Cool. Thanks.

if admin doesnt work try this 1. go to Kierikans file in start menu 2.right click on it 3.click open folder location 4.double click it 5.click bin 6.right click supreme commander IN THE BIN 7.click trouble shoot compatability if admin doesnt work and play i hope i can help i deleted a post that said i bent a metal knife i wasnt lieing thats how angry i was luckily it was a butter knife
