I can play it still though. No issues on my Win10/11 PCs. ... and also runs in Linux with WINE/Proton.

ya the steam version is broken even if you have the original disk it is broken but i recently bought the game on gog and all the problems is gon and working https://www.gog.com/en/game/supreme_commander_gold_edition

Just installed it today and I use Windows 11.
It works perfectly fine.
Your messages saying "it doesn't work" is extremely vague. What is your error messages?
Try running the runtimes etc. that came with the game. It's probably the problem for you guys. Steam runs them by default after downloading the game for the first time though.
If it doesn't work it's on your end.

agreed Works fine and with radmin to simulate a lan party. the game is ON! with friends world wide :)

Playing on W11, it works perfectly.

Windows 11 any time a cutscene is watched (intro or campaign) the game gets stuck on a black screen forever, if you click off the game it stuck and you can't even turn the game off without really forcing it off. task manager was having a lot of trouble, and my pc is fine with many of the bigger titles on max settings and the task manager doesn't usually have issues closing out an application like this. alt f4 won't get you out even if you haven't clicked off once you let a cutscene play, tried a lot of stuff, no fix so far. Forged Alliance is working fine however, but it does crash after each skirmish round ends and i go to menu lol

1st u(and anyone else) made the mistake of having win 11 when we can have win 7 and or win 10 for another 10yrs with 0patch.com because win 11 doesn't belong to you or anyone other than MC and anything u do (usisng the win11 machine) is (most likely) data mined.

Running win10 striped of all the junk ware and it works fine. Anyway for those on win 11 try turning OFF any overlays such as steam and or discord but not limited to (ex. win10 and 11 has the game bar thingy that is an overlay of some sort and many graphic cards hae overlays.) turn those off and see if that works.

Works just fine here too (And on my Brother's pc.). Seems like future-proofing games isn't really the first thing that comes to mind for any game developer. If there is anything that'll help you can always look at Event Viewer and get some ideas from that. Otherwise play FA.

It only uses 1 thread, even Ryzen 7700X with 4.5GHz freeze on win11
But Ryzen 5800X on win10 is very good, didn't check threads

its possible to force older ggames to use more threads with 3rd party software such as PROCESS LASSO by bitsum.com for those intrerested.. but its not needed the game runs great. simply turn off overlays
