Supcom, supcom FA, supcom 2
I have all these and not sure which to play, I don't want to start with oldest and lose interest in the later ones by the time I finish it, if you know what I mean, if you have played all 3 what do you recommend?

If you install the a FAF client[www.faforever.com] (which does not modify your original game files) you can play the campaign missions in co-op, but the briefings and videos will not be shown then.

If you don’t feel like playing the campaign you can just take a break and play multiplayer. I recommend FAF because there are plenty of players, a very active community and many gameplay improvements.

I can’t tell anything about SC2 because I didn’t play it. I just read that quite a few people don’t like it because of the very different („dumbed-down“) gameplay.

Forged Alliance is the best one

So after playing it, playing other titles would feel like a waste of time? just because A is better than B, it does not mean B is not worth trying, I mean from this point of view.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thanks man, that is helpful, I never played strategy online, I more fan of building strategy and very slow building games, so multiplayer with a human will be

I will start with FA and if I manage to finish it and like it too much I will try the older one or SC2, thanks for the feedback.

Sorry for not being more in depth. SupCom 1 has a nice campaign, no doubt. Worth playing totally. SupCom FA campaign is a continuation of SupCom 1. FA massively improves gameplay and adds a whole new faction. It's the best one for multiplayer.

SupCom 2 is completely different, except for the name of the game and some units. Other than that, it's a new beast. It's not bad as itself, but compared to the originals, it's objectively worse. It's a watered version of the originals.

No problem, I was asking because I very recently played Assassin's creed, I played AC2 which many consider to be the best but it was long and I found it boring after finishing 60% of it, looks outdated too, so I did not finish it and lost interest in trying other titles I already have, this is my main concern from posting here, there are games that you will want more titles to play, but sometimes playing one out of 3 is enough, you feel that you have seen everything, so I didn't want to waste a gameplay on the wrong title, thank you for the info, I will try FA, if it is too good I might try 1 or 2 :)

I honestly would start with sup com 1. The reason being FA was basically a full standalone expansion for the first game, It assumes you know how to play the first game and know the basics of how it plays and the units and buildings, it jumps you straighty into the action.

Where as is you play the first one, it teaches you how to play and how to use the units, by slowely introducing more units and buildings the further into the game you get.

Now the 2nd plays differetnly enough that you simply do not feel your playing more of the same, its kind of one of the reasons some people do not like the 2nd, but I think its a good thing as you can play both side by side and not feel your just doing the same thing over and over.

At the end of the day you have your whole life ahead, so really in the grand scheme of things playing the 1st one 1st even if it takes you a month, is not a big deal, then play fa, then play 2....

Sadly SupCom 1 does not work, tried it today for the first time, tried compatibility and still no luck,

gives me error, app has stopped working ref MSVCR80.dll, The application was unable to start correctly 0xc0000005.

Tried installing DX from folder again

With compatibility gives several errors like System erro: Application load error 5:0000065434

It worked, I reinstalled directX from game folder but this time with admin rights and then clicked on play from library not from bin or desktop, it worked

I lowered audio quality and raised it in PC settings, used Compatibility and nothing worked, I think I clicked on play from library before but did not work so I think directx with admin fixed it.

After download it I clicked play from steam library, inside steam box message I got directx is downloading but nothing happened and I got no error but game did not start so I guess something went wrong.

I KNOW THIS IS OLD I DONT CARE - PLAY ORDER OF THE GAMES

sc1 they very begining WELCOME COMMANDER
introduces you to everything, some balance but TIERS ARE KEY t1 is trash just go for hard hitting and fast to protect what u have (base ACU)

sc2 THE 2ND PART OF THE WAR
way more unit spammy of all 3 but has new reasearch tree witch become like t1 units when u get late game just spam the (EXPERIMENTALS)
think 100 t1 bombers can still do 3 sweeps over an ai commander with shields and a full base and still kill enemy commander

DLC IS A MUST makes skirmish a cake walk, just gotta balance the trifecter now [energy mass research] t1 should only be used to help u get t2 units on (use t1 to counter other t1's obviuosly if they out number you buy at least 3-5 units per your own)

sc:FFA dont remember this but i thinks its an alternate timeline
realistic times, engy units are poorly coded need to manually most things other e.g they dont reclaim automatically when on patrol

TIPS
UPGRADE THE ACU
HAVE ENGYS ON PATROL

HAVE ATLEAST 1 OF EACH FACTORY TYPE CONSTANTLY PRODUCING UNITS THAT PATROL UR BASE

(WILL UPDATE LATER) - i did copy and past this from another forum but its still my own

I played Sup com when it first came out.... not years later on steam. It remains the best rts game I have ever played.

FA was interesting in that it added a new faction but only interests me because it is much easier to setup that game to play on steam than the original. Overall it is identical with a few added units , nerfed nukes (smaller radius) and massively nerfed special units (build faster with less health.... overall seem far less special and cheapens the experience).

Supcom 2.... I had no interest in playing. it just lacks soul and felt like a money grab.

I played them all.

I recommend following the story, beginning is yes in Total Annihilation (1997), of course a lot of bad, missing shortcuts, templates, but do not need to play entire campaigns if it is up to half already good. Then correct would be to play TA Springer (2005), but does not have just multiplayer campaign. After that you are already accustomed to the game's style, multiply scenarios and control various scenarios air, land, sea. You already become a fan of this RTS style.

And yes comes your question, which one to play and in what order. Supreme Commander Vanilla has a better story, a lot of CGs and an ideal order to learn about new gameplay, will gradually introduce you to a whole new range of innovations on the new game of 2007. I highly recommend switching screen during game by pressing alt + up, or left keyboard. ( https://steamcommunity.com/app/9350/discussions/0/1694914736008385594/ ).

In Vanilla has an excellent campaign, but pessimo multiplayer, which was fixed in the FA, this expander came to fix multiplayer errors. Although the game was eventually abandoned and another company was sold, the community continued with excellent support through Forged Alliance Forever which provides new updates and support inumerous such as cooperative campaign missions, map downloads and mods.

Unfortunately it came bizarre continued Supreme Commander 2 was compact game to fit in an X-Box console, abbreviation series a bad campaign, lack of support and nonetheless the game stays with a community in the range of 300 online every day, in case I I recommend mod "Revamp" which adds a number of innovations and new units to the SC-2.

Still continuing Planetary Annihilation - Titans 2015, a new remake of Total Annihilation 1997, but fails terribly, has no campaign, has no history and only 1 faction. Even so I recommend with mod "Legion Expansion" that adds 1 new faction and makes game more attractive.
