No sound at all?
Whenever I start the game, there seems to be no sound at all - not in the intro, not at the main menu, not when I'm actually playing. Help?

My audio drivers are up-to-date and Directx is 11. Running on Windows 7, compatibility mode set to Windows XP (SP2). I don't have this problem with any other game, including Forged Alliance.

It would be nice if you used punctuation and capitalization ;) , but back to your issue: Some more info would be nice. There are also some search hits for your problem like this one which may help you:
Audio not playing intro & cut scenes FIXED

Please give feedback on the result :) .

Same here, Windows 10, Direct X12, single monitor HDMI'd to GTX970. Black screen on launch which goes to main menu if you click or ESC. Ambient sounds, weapon fire, build sounds are good, but all voice is silent. Really kills the expience in campaign which is what I'm trying to play since I just bought it. Never had a problem with speakers before in other games.

edit: I mistakenly explained my problem with FA, I actually get the intro video to play in SC, but there is no volume at all.

@ChadBroChill2: Try to change your audio from 5.1 to stereo or vice versa and back (see this post).

Thanks for getting back, but I found a fix online. BIOS, turn off HD Audio. I haven't noticed a difference on any other applications and I have sound again. Very happy over here.

Problem is in sound driver version. I had Realtek hd audio drivers R270 and no sound in game. After instaling R282 sound is back. Try experimenting with different drivers for HD audio from Realtek site.

go to device manager and check the name of your sound card. If it's called something like "device compatible with high definition audio standard" it means windows didn't recognize your card and loaded some basic drivers. This works 99% of the time but apparently not for this game. In this case you have to download drivers directly from card producers website. Sometimes all drivers for your setup are stored on the website of PC manufacturer

Use windows Explorer to find the supremecommander.exe file
and then right click it. Choose Troubleshoot compatibility then click on recommended settings, and then start the program.

This fixed my no sound problem in Supreme Commander.
I have windows 7 and i am using HD audio through my z5500 logitech speakers using an optical in cable.

I hope this helps.

This! This advice totally solved it for me - I don't mind playing with my headphones on.
