I understand this type of game is economy driven and your supposed to produce an endless amount of units streaming towards your goal but the strategic aspects are again, a bit too pedantic. This was just on normal that I noticed these things. AI bombers are far more effective due to map awareness and the AI that controls my bombers acts like it hasn't been able to pass 3rd grade for about a decade. The computer is quite adept at luring units and picking them off, yet if they are put on hold position or the fire but don't pursue option, they just get picked off from units behind the FOW and my units do not repsond unless I give the attack move order. It's an older game but I don't remember it being this hyper detail oriented when it came to playing a basic AI. It's annoying
I only started to play SC, so I can‘t tell about that. Nevertheless I played through Forged Alliance and I had the impression that the AI is rather stupid and winning is just a laborious task with correct timings ;) .
Build a mixed army containing units with long range vision and long range weapons and position them strategically. As soon as possible, conquer an enemy factory to be able to build enemy units. Always send big armies. Later in a mission use groups of experimental units.
Once I used 3 Fatboys for long range but imprecice heavy artillery rain and 3 Colossus for short range destruction and defence. The Fatboys and Colossus were in formation and the Colossus were covered by the Fatboy‘s shields. In the beginning I had to use additional units for air defense, but later I just steamrolled the enemy.
You could play the SC campaign with the FA AI - see the FAF wiki page[wiki.faforever.com].
1 yes ai cheats like u said its in literally every game (ever, even in cod sopmetimes ai 1 hits you through a wall , EVEN WITH NO INFOMATION that u are there, happens often enough though to prove ) unless stated other wise
2 scouts then defences then economy and army
3 yes they do try to lure your units that are on standby - because they are being smart and controling the unit that they use to lure yours (they dont just build and start to have a slog fest with you)
4 you can lure there units aswell literally play cybran campaign on mission 3 and just send in about 10 intercepters then send them back to your base enemy units (other interceptors) on patrol wil follow
5 skirmish or campagin ?
skirmish set visiblity to all / no fog of war
