so is Gone Home better than this? it has 86%
ill take the opinion of a hundred tards who use their own pocket money rather than those decorations
Gone Home is not comparable, you could also pick any highly rated visual novel, these games are completely story-driven and if you aren't really interested in the topic, they won't resonate with you.
And honestly pick any visual novel on Steam with 99% positive ratings, chances are high I won't enjoy them.
With Dead Island 2 it's way easier to review it more objectively, there are gameplay elements that can be judged and compare them to other games.
While DI2 has the best 1on1 zombie slaying, it lacks in other aspects compared to other open world games, even in the zombie genre.
There are no hordes, no vehicles, no destructive environment.
And in the case of Dead Island 2 steam reviews are even lower than the 73 metascore, because most people just whine about Epic and Denuvo.
best 1on1 zombie slaying? what about literaly tens of hundrets other zombie games , state of decay games , dead rising games , dying light games , dead island games
as person who plays quite a lot of these DI2 is just unfun , only reason i played it is i was already past my refund window and wanted to finish story to judge it , lots mechanics are odd , world is small , linear to ♥♥♥♥ , short , weapons are uninspired , story is boring , most time i played it i just wished i was playing dead island/riptide or other zombie game
i agree with steam score , id give it 5+ 6 at absolute most out of 10 , get on big sale only.
you can disregard a lot things but 1 thing you cant is epic game store since it been created not had single dollar of profit yet
whats worse in 2 past years they had massive revenue drops who hits even harder if your running unprofitable store
i usually dont want to discuss lawsuit drama , but best thing who came out with apple vs epic , is epic had to publish their profitability records
if you want other store GOG is great alternative. but sadly not all games are sold there.
sorry for typos and errors.
Have a good day and god bless each and everyone of you look forward to many ore amusing posts .
P.S No offense to anyone
Exactly my thoughts on this topic in general, not just for Dead Island 2.
And yes, I also dislike Epic and their holding games hostage as exclusives. I never buy on Epic and i do not even use epic store not even for free games thats how much i dislike it, because it's a bad service and a bad store.
But once the game is finally on Steam, it's over, the sin is absolved, welcome back home lost son and all that.
Gave you 10.000 Steam Points in awards simply because you seem to be one of the rare people who are NOT idiots about such topics nowadays.
Well said.
Paid shill 100%
Yes, Timmy Sweeney pays me in McDonalds discount coupons. You got me!
You are always complaining about video game prices. If being a shill gets you paid, might be time to start shilling Jacky. Seems like you need it
Dead Island 2 seems like a fun game. That's enough. Quoting Dambuster Studios -their answer to "What is Dead Island 2" was: "zombie gorefest" and "pulp extravaganza". They went for it and provided it. And further down the line they got asked about features they wish they had in the game and what affected those, that's when they locked eyes with the reviewer and responded in unity "scope". Dambuster started from scratch and made the game in 4 years, which is very short for a title this size. The studio is below 200 staff.

I really hope we get an announcement about Dead Island 3. In the meantime, I'll take the opportunity to grab a copy of DI2 soon.
Massive revenue drop? what?
EGS revenue:
2023: $950 Million (16% increase)
2022: $820 Million (2% decrease)
2021: $840 Million (20% increase)
2020: $700 Million (3% increase)
2019: $680 Million
There isn't any massive revenue drop going on.
Companies running at a loss is normal, even for many years. Disney planned on running a loss on Disney+ for years, though sure they ran at a loss higher than expected, but the point is they started up Disney+ knowing they would be running at a loss for years to come. Tesla, Unity, Spotify, Netflix are other companies that ran at a loss for many years.
