Of course it's better. Bigger scope, bigger maps, human enemies, driving sections, skill tree differentiate the characters vs card system that makes everyone play the same by endgame.
Also, it may be a preference thing but to me personally the DI1 exotic locales were more interesting than the more Western setting of California, also the insufferably annoying NPCs in second game, they do fit right in with California but still.

no it wasn't it was ♥♥♥♥ in the beginning, DI.1 it was a flaming dumpster full of CTD bugs and broken quest lines audio and animation that didn't play and your shadows arms didn't move while holding a weapon and running, sure it was ok game not saying it wasn't but DI.2 vs DI.1 .... 2 wins hands down don't care what you say....

saying DI1 is better than DI2 is saying DI1 is better than dying light. you will be laughed at by anyone with brain cells.

D2 is a cash grab filled with microtransactions and player tracking technology, it's a big pile of steaming crap with an average game laid on top. Don't link PROS, don't participate in any of their nonsense.

D1 was much much better. Sure D2 has a few tech improvements in visuals, but honestly I don't need anyone to invest the kind of time and effort they did on realistic gore that I see for a split second, and tune out because I'm trying to click on the next thing.

And hey, The first actually took place on an island.

DI2 is just more fun to play in general in terms of combat, Sure the first game had trees most were pretty boring in general and took forever, cards at least have some difference and have some actual impact. Location is subjective but DI2 has better environmental story telling and makes better use of the space compared to DI1 which had long stretches of back and forth.

Driving wasn't good neither was the boat from riptide not to mention its only in the first area then thrown away in later areas.

Plot is pretty bad for both but at least depending on the character in 2 they had some personality.

Its not really "fair" to compare games 12 years apart. Some things DI1 does better and other things DI2 does better. Both games are fantastic in their own way.

Its a sequel so its going to be compared, Curious what does DI1 do better then 2?

It was bigger, the maps were more varied, and there was a 'lot' more to do.

Bigger doesn't mean better, considering getting around for quests became a chore, Maps all felt the same and having more quests doesn't mean it had "more" to do. Most boil down to the same stuff in the sequel go around completing tasks while killing zombies.

I own but have not gotten around to playing this game but um...

If DL1's advantage is it was bigger then dang this game must be crazy small or you are wrong, because DL1 was tiny as hell and it was one of its core complaints aside from the immense number of bugs, mandatory mods to fix major issues, and balance problems like knife girl being so broken the other 3 players in a coop ought as well afk because everything dies before they can do anything or as she near instant kills the final boss, or other crazy broken builds.

The world of DL1 was also very very bland, overall. There just wasn't much to interact with, explore, or in terms of level design in general.

I think you're overselling DL1. Alas, having not played DL2 I can't comment if it is even worse or actually better/comparable.

Why did you say DL1 ten million times when nobody talkin about that game?
I think both DI1 and DI2 have good aspects/features to each other though tbh DI1 is kinda unplayable to me on PC. Even the remastered version isn't good imo (looks good tho), its one of the wort feeling games I've ever played on PC.

I can see why people dont like it because of it. Input lag-ish as ive seen some say. For me, i just got used to it. At least for the Remasters, theres a mod that completely removes that feeling and some other unnecessary options.

Its just a all round a technically mess and even the UI/UX is bad. I played the game on the 360 originally so in some ways those problems are fine but at the same time I was a little ass kid so I didn't care.

I still love the first game tho, it just sucks it got one of the worst PC ports among two versions. Also I like Riptide as well more or less, I don't remember the story that well tho, I feel like the ending had them inside a boat sailing into the sunset but I can't remember tbh.
DL originally was not linear. DL 2 is freaking and unbeliable linear. You can explore the map outside the map boundries. Is so.....so.....so.....so.....so.....so.....so.....so.....so.....so.....so.....so.....so.....so.....so.....so.....so.....so.....so.....so.....so.....so.....so restricted. Everytime I try to climb a wall and jump to other ledge and grab and climb. I find another invisible wall blocking me.:angry_creep:
