so quick question... if i'm buying veggies from the traders that fly in, why can i not plant them in my farm?

just bought sunflower seeds from the trader and they aren't working as well... they don't even show up on the wiki for farming but are in the game. what am i doing wrong?

you have to purchase the potato seed... you can not plant just potato.. it must end with seed.

make sure you are using the cultivation field (and you have the new dlc 'distant places' enabled..

also check the limits for food

PS: different food items such as sunflower seed are not listed and are not in the wiki :)

can't plant the potato? and the peppers, tomatoes, etc. don't have seeds in them either? um... didn't expect that.

The dlc is installed and it is called a cultivated field, i currently have carrots growing in them and the sunflower seeds have been in the town hall since the balloon trader left but i have no idea how to transfer them to the farm to plant. my food is at about 5k out of the 10k i raised it to once i put down a few warehouses, most of which are still pretty empty.

any seeds you have acquired will automatically show up in the field menu in this case...

just make sure you select the 'choose seed' button to confirm.

then wait for the previous crop to complete and your farmers will begin planting your new seed.

if the above isn't happening then you purchased the item after its been fully grown.. remember if you want seeds it must end in seed.

ok so you're saying the sunflower seeds i bought from the trader are not the sunflower seeds you stick in the ground? like i bought roasted, lightly salted sunflower seeds from the balloon guy that can't be planted?

this farming system is um, interesting.

that is correct..

potato's, cherries or sunflowers etc are the food and will appear in your inventory

potato seed, cherry seed or sunflower seed are what you plant and will not appear in your inventory but will automatically appear in your fields or orchid menu's.

ok now i get it. i guess i was putting to much rl thought into this when it's actually just an unlock and not some items in your inventory. thank you for the help!
