Logistics and scrap
Loving the game so far but trying to get my head round logistics and scrap.

I have quite a small city with a scrap yard surrounded by recyclers and a market nearby to gather these resources. I've now salvaged all scrap from the immediate area around my town so any further resources will have to be harvested from quite a distance away. I was thinking of building another scrapyard further away where there is more scrap but how do I get the scrap from the new scrapyard to my market near to the recyclers? Do I build another market with its range covering both my old market and the new scrapyard? Do I build a warehouse near to the new scrap yard and hope that my logistics collect and take to my central market for redistribution? I don't really want to start a new mini-town just for the purpose of salvaging scrap.

Apologies if this is a stupid question but what do you guys do in this situation?

I don't tend to build markets until late game. But I do build warehouses near every outpost. In your case, scrapyard >>> Warehouse >>> Recyclers>>> warehouse >>> (factory the refined goods are needed at).

I often will look for an open area away from the water to build my industrial zones, with warehouses between the industry and residental as a buffer for the negative debuff industry brings. As the outpost grows in size, I tend to add homes to it, with farms closest to the nearest water source. then someplace between the outpost and the main city, I'll build a market.

So from the way I understand it, you build a market between your outpost, overlapping the warehouse where scrap is stored and your recycler area? I don't know why but markets confuse the hell out of me and the way logisticians work. Do I then have to have a patchwork of markets overlapping each other to move materials around an even larger area? i.e. from one side of my city to another?

This, plus you can add a food/water stand in that area and have the logisticians relay those supplies to the industrial area. People won't have to go home mid-job. Although, this usually ends up needing its own decon, as food/water stands have a bad habit of grabbing radiated supplies.

I'm arriving at station 200, and I haven't built the market yet, I use the shed, my base is not very organized, but I tried to distribute the sheds between the factories and the food factories. I also use Water Point and Food Point. It's working
