"Fatal Scar Error - Excecution Paused!"

I got this freaking error in the beginning of the Order's Mission 4.

I really want to finish the campaign and I would appreciate a fix for this.

I saw many people complaining about this error too, and how they tried to fix, so... Reinstalling, checking files integrity, and the basic workarounds won't make the deal.

If anyone know anything to fix it, please help me.

having the same issue on the first mission, immediately after the cinematic. Is there a fix to this?

Edit: Tried everything i could and i can't get it to work. I downloaded a pirated copy of the game and it works without a single problem.

ugh, got same problem, fatar scar error beginning of order mission 4 and disorder mission 1... so... still no fix?

I am having a fatal scar execution paused error as well with DOW 2 Chaos rising, mine seems to think there is an unexpected squad present in the mission to rescue the scouts.... Is this fixable or is the game unplayaable?

Many years later... I encountered this on the very first mission. I have encountered a similar bug in Dawn of War soulstorm on a particular Ultimate Apocolypse map. Which leads me to believe the bug lies somewhere inside the map. The map was also a winter map like the first mission is. The ultimate apocolypse mod map I think is a completely modded from scratch map. So either it stole aspects of this games map design and implemented it into SS or (I assume all the games from dow 1-SS run the same engine) its just the engine, either way, does anyone have a fix and are you still active Dev?

Also worth noting it doesnt crash the game and it doesnt even freeze the damn game, everyone just stops moving and the sound stops. Thats it.

I had this issue today in the first level, after the battle...

I had this issue too. I got past the error in mission 1. I'm not sure, but I think it may have something to do with accidently breaking some scripted sequence. Like for mission 1, I think there could be an issue with destroying the defilers as the Eldar, since they are part of the mission later when the Imperial Guard must destroy the 4 artillery, which are defilers.

There's chaos turrets too, that are neutral for some reason. It's possible to destroy those, so I avoided doing that as well.

Or it could have nothing to do with this, I don't know

It happens to me with chaos clan in mission 4 when i kill the big monster thing at the portal.

Just in case this helps anyone (yes, mid 2021 and this still hasn't been fixed, and as we all know it isn't ever going to be, because f*** us paying customers that's why). It happened to me towards the end of mission 4, disorder, chaos side. I was about to storm the psychic gate with my forces led by Bloodthirster when I got this game breaking bug. After carefully going through this thread (and others) I've realized it was something to do with my interaction with the environment. So instead of strating a brawl and provoking the wrath of Scar Error I went around (using Rapthros' "jump" ability) and got to the Guardsmen base where the final strategic point is. There I summoned Bloodthirster to protect the raptors while they captured the point, then I got as close as possible to the gate with him and used his "jump" to reach the glowing marker. Mission successful. It's a real shame we all have to go through this instead of just enjoy an already tiny expanssion for which we've paid. Customer service level: EA Games.

Tl;dr - do something different, move from another path, attack from another direction, use stupid guesswork and I hope it works for you...

This happens to me at the end of order mission 1 right after I kill the Chaos Sorcerer with the Eldar.. Have retried several times. rip

Really Appreciate your effort!! This is happening to me as well just not on the mission you had it with. Makes sense tho. Mine is on the mission four from the first campaign. That is what I was thinking tho that it just has to be done a different way in order to just avoid the error since it's clearly not fixed in 2022, maybe one day for future gamers who knows?! :p

Hey, thank you very much buddy, sorry for taking so long to respond, spam-folder-definition mix-up :) I've completely given up on the "studio" actually taking responsibility, fulfilling its commitments and, well, doing its job. It's up to us players to try and help each other get through such mess. Which is a darn shame, as the franchise used to be incredible...
