Dawn of War: Game of the Year Edition won't launch

I have the DoW:GotY edition with all the expansions. Soulstorm and Dark Crusade work perfectly, but the base game and Winter Assault won't load. I launch them, Steam says they're running for a few seconds and then it stops with no result. I can't find any forum posts more recent than 2012, so can anyone else help?

I get the same with Win7-64 except I just played the base game. It's just Winter Assault that does this.

My warnings.log includes the following:

17:50:21.08 GAME -- Failed to load 'Regions.ini'
17:50:21.10 MATHBOX -- Version=5, Cpu=unknown:f=15,m=1, Mode=SSE
17:50:21.10 FILESYSTEM -- filepath failure, path does not exist 'engine\data\'
17:50:21.10 GAME -- Failed to aliased engine data folder
17:50:21.10 AppInitGlobal -- Failed load for step: 'File Path'

The file regions.ini doesn't exist and verifying file integrity doesn't help.

Forget about regions.ini. Just create a folder named "Data" in the "Engine" folder.

I can´t thank you enough for your solution! I had this problem for over 2 weeks and couldn´t seem to fix it; it was as simple as that.

I have the same problem, instealled DoW 1 pack, GotY and Winter Assault won't launch after 'synching' nothign happens.

I checked and the \Steam\SteamApps\common\Dawn of War Gold\Engine\Data is there (it's empty but it exists).
Anyone have tips?

I just bought GOTY edition and encountered problems too. First, the base game and winter assault were freezing on the initial autosave on mission 1, and now Winter Assault won't launch at all. I'll try the Data folder solution. I also read that running the game in compatibility mod for an older WIndows OS might help

So i entered the data folder into the engine folder but the graphics have tanked and some of the sounds are off did i mess something up lol
