I am so confused. The map is littered with stuff that says "F to pick up" but f does nothing. Am I supposed to collect this stuff somehow or what?

I was wondering. Do you know if this game is still being updated for new feature content? Or is this game fully completed and no longer being worked on?

Is this game as hard as I think it is. I'm a gamer and this game kills me between the enemies, saving weirdness, and millions of items just not the ones you want/need. I love the detail, story, and cool abilities, but it's so clunky to control. Is there going to be a difficulty setting? When the enemies hit you once they power up and hit you again so you die immediately....

I saw a selection of 7 or 8 playable characters in the trailers but are they actually in the game?
