Technical issues and workarounds
Here's some issues I've encountered playing the game and how you can work around them.

When not displayed on a 16:9 display, the aspect ratio is wrong. You can get around this by forcing GPU scaling in NVIDIA Control Panel, under 'adjust desktop size and position'. Make sure the drop down 'Perform scaling on:' is set to 'GPU' and ensure 'override the scaling mode set by games and programs' is checked. Even after doing this, you may have to press the ALT + Enter keys upon starting the game to restore the game's 16:9 aspect ratio. I'm not sure what the equivalent would be for AMD/Intel drivers.

The game has no frame rate cap and will run as fast as the refresh rate of your monitor if your other hardware permits. Game speed is tied to frame rate so the game will run faster. To workaround this, type 'advanced display info' into the start menu, and then go to the adapter properties for the monitor you intend to play the game on. Go to the 'Monitor' tab and change the screen refresh rate to 60 Hertz. Make sure you restore this setting to its maximum after you're finished playing the game.

One thing I found a bit jarring too is that there's no steam cloud for the game, and trying to copy paste my save file from PC to my laptop didn't really work out, I just got a black screen until I deleted the save file I tried to carry over.

Maybe the savefile is encrypted and bound to a particular computer, hence the no availability of the Steam Cloud feature

Dunno, not that big a deal at least since I was just 2 clears in. Gonna be more annoyed by it in the future I'm sure.

Also gotta admit, the Rush mechanic is very much designed around an analog stick, if you try to play this on keyboard, trying to aim anywhere with this is really rough.

My workaround for games that don't have native cloud save support is to create symbolic links in the game's save directory to a folder you sync to OneDrive/Dropbox/Google Drive. The game will then write and read save files in the folder that will then upload to your chosen service.

It's kind of fiddly especially since the default method to do this uses command prompt on each device you want to play on, but using something like Link Shell Extension at http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/hardlinkshellext.html makes it easier and more convenient by adding symlink creation to the standard Windows Explorer context menu.

I have an 144MHz monitor, but there's an much easier way to force 60 FPS:

Alternatively, you can force 60 FPS by using RiverTuner Stastics Server application (note: requires the latest version of MSI Afterburner installed and run). Find the game's location and .exe file. Then, set the 'Framerate limit' to 60 and press enter. Minimize RivaTuner; this will be minimized to the taskbar menu. Don't click close button, otherwise it will not run and won't cap the game's FPS to 60.

If you happened to close RivaTuner by accident, you need to open MSI Afterburner again and it'll open RivaTuner. (Note: if Afterburner window is opened but want it to be minimized, see my bonus tip below)

Bonus Tip: If you want both Afterburner and Rivatuner to be opened while starting up Windows OS, you need to set the general properties for Afterburner. To do this, open Afterburner (if it's already opened in taskbar menu, double click it). Click the cog icon. Under General category, tick "Start with Windows" and "Start minimized". Click Apply and then OK.

Either way will work, but my method doesn't require extra software and introduce display artifacts. Running 60fps content on a 144Hz display means 14 frames out of 60 will be displayed thrice as opposed to twice. It's a small visual issue, but some might not notice. If you're running a 120 or 240Hz display it'll be fine.

I have a 144hz monitor so I guess I'll hold off on purchasing this until they patch it.
