Yakuza Kiwami 2

Yakuza Kiwami 2

Ez a téma zárolásra került
Are ALL yakuza games on the same map?
1 or 2 games with the same map is more than enough, how many games are on the same map? if thats the case it will get boring real fast seeing the same location over and over again.

Kamurocho is in every game, but there are nice locations like Okinawa in 3 or Sotenbori in 0, Kiwami 2 and 5.
and Yakuza 5 also have 5 different cities with the 5 characters.

I think it's a really good add on to the atmosphere, because you run around the same cities and at the end you will know every corner, street and shops without a map, and it's a very lazy but smart decision from SEGA.

Yes and no.

Kamurocho is in all the games, plus:

Sotenbori in Yakuza 2 / Kiwami 2 and Yakuza 0
Okinawa in Yakuza 3
Yakuza 5 has 5 cities in all (Fukuoka, Sapporo etc)
Yakuza 6 has a town in Hiroshima

Yakuza 4 is different and has an expanded Kamurocho instead (rooftops, underground etc).
Good that they are at least changing it up a little, is the yakuza series finished or will there be yakuza 7?
Kiryu's story is over with Yakuza 6, next main series game will feature different protagonist.
And there are always rumors of spinoff game or two featuring other characters from main series.

Now lets hope they dont replace him with a woman all of a sudden as most series tend to do these days due to sjw agenda. What happened to that judgement game?

Kamurocho is almost like a fan service :D
With real life Yakuza being a territorial bunch it actually does make sense that you end up with the same location appearing again in sequels and spin offs.

Plus they do change things around from one game to the next: Different shops, different accessible areas, different mood in the city, different games in the arcade, different side activities etc.

Plus of course story and character changes.

Also since it is a pretty niche series you can't expect them to crap out new locations every year like CoD due to a much smaller budget.
Yakuza is a franchise with yearly releases and low budget. It's way better spending the money in a new story and high quality actors than making new empty maps with no details.

As long as they add some new locations to the main location its fine, without that it can get very boring seeing the same place over and over.

You're one of those people, eh?

Judgement and Shin Ryū ga Gotoku both bring back Kamurucho. It has more or less the same layout in every game. If you're expecting vast changes between games, try a different series.

They are not lazy.
Budget problem.
If the gamer buys more SEGA games ...

Joking aside,Kamurocho is perfect as a game setting.
Because Kamurocho (Kabukicho) has a sex shop in the same place as the restaurant. It is a chaotic city.
So it's a fun city to walk around.
Even in the game or in reality.
So I think I can not find a city to replace Kamimuro.
