Should I play Yakuza 6 after Kiwami 2?
I'm at the final chapter of Yakuza Kiwami 2 and I enjoyed it so much. But after I finish this game i dunno what to do.

I want to play Yakuza 6, it looks so good, the content and the minigames really catch my attention, the story looks interesting and I enjoyed so much the Dragon Engine on Kiwami 2 and Like a Dragon.

Yakuza 3 doesn't really catch my eye, and a lot of people talks ♥♥♥♥ about it.

I'd like to play Yakuza 6, but I don't know if it will be a problem that I didn't played 3,4 and 5, what do you recommend me?

Alot of people only complain about the gameplay of yakuza 3, not the story which still follows kiryus arc, so id say get the bundle and see if you like it if not refund and watch the cutscenes on YouTube
NO.... PLAY THEM IN ORDER. the story will make a lot of sens eif you do. yakuza 3 is a bit lack lustre.. but it is a wholesome game nonetheless.

I recommend playing them in chronological order.
I haven't played 6, yet, but I have played 3 and enjoyed it more than Kiwami 2.
And even, if you don't like 3's gameplay the story is amazing as always.

I'm with Lar Dass on this one. Try 3 and see it it's your cup of tea. If it isn't, you can follow the story on Youtube. I can tell you from personal experience that those "movies" are really good.

Yakuza 6 is the culmination of all previous games. You'd be skipping three.

Play everything in order and just rush yakuza 3 story or watch it on yt. Gameplay, combat, technical aspects, game balance (dumb but bullet spongy bosses, passive easy to manipulate enemies) side content and most of story (still there are some good moments in this poor paced story) are just horrible in this game. Yakuza 4 while being on same engine is just amazing compared to that nonsense game (ye ye it has funny story with ridiculous amounts of plot twists and betrayals).

False because people complain about story too.

An extreme minority of players

I think it's okay to probably skip 4 and 5 if you just wanted to play 6 but 3 is pretty much required to play imo. First, it sets up his arc from which 4 and 5 don't really stray too far away from. There isn't a whole lot of character development in either 4 or 5 (especially 4) but the background story moves forward. Second, Y6 is thematically parallel to Y3 in a lot of ways and you would appreciate the story much more imo. Although I agree with the others it's better to play them all in order.

As for Y3, the gameplay is jank but it's got a lot of charm. The only major complaint about the story is the very bizarre plot dump in the middle. I think they could have handled it better instead of 15 minutes of exposition but it's not bad enough to taint the entire game it's more confusing and weird than anything. The rest of the story really comes down to your personal taste.

i mean

you can always just watch the story for 345 if you really want.

Its not the best way to experience them, and to be fair I don't blame you if you wanna skip 3, its a terrible game on all accounts and has very little going for it.
you're going to miss 3 games worth of story and you'll lose the impact that those games would have given the end of 6. 3, the game play is not up to date but it gets better with 4. The stories for those are really solid and will make the ending of 6 feel more rewarding.

a lot more people complain about Yakuza 6 then about Yakuza 3, especially they complain about story in Y6

so if you're story type player jsut skip 6 as well

I like all Yakuza games, but probably i am just fan boy and my opinion doesnt matter

obvious fact is people mostly dislike Kiwami 1, Y3, Y4 and Y6

I don't think most people dislike those games but it depends on why you're playing them. Some people who power through the story like 3 and 6 the most, others don't care for them as much. I think 3 and 6 are two of the best games. Every game has some problems but it's not that bad. Y3 is definitely the oldest and most jank out of all of them but I think it gives it the most charm. The setting is incredible and the characters are some of the most well written in the series. 3, 4, and 5 are the best to 100% because of all the things to do whereas K2 and Y7 are pretty heavy grind fests. All of them have their positives and negatives and if you really want the best experience you'll play them all in order. I think Y3 is as integral to the overall Kiryu arc as K1 because it sets up his arc for 4, 5 and 6. Whereas 4 and 5 don't really advance his story nearly as much. 4 is the most skippable game in regards to Kiryu's arc imo and yet it introduces some of the best playable characters.

Play games in order, 3 is not as bad as you think, I also was thinking that "I wouldn't adjust after K2 to the old gameplay" but it has become one of my favorite Yakuza games. Don't listen to people parroting others opinions and try it for yourself, I wish Steam had demo-versions for that reason. Y6 is also set right after Y5, so playing Y5 is kinda mandatory before Y6.

could be, it's just what I've seen on reddit and on steam discussions since 2018 and also there were some surveys on reddit about which game people like the most, and 6 was at the bottom.
