Performance, compared to 0 and Kiwami 1
So... is it just me or does Kiwami 2 has absolutly terrible performance even tho l read a lot about fixes and patches ? Both Yakuza 0 and Kiwami 1 run perfect for me on high graphics and still Kiwami 2 is an utter mess with average fps between 20 and 25 on minimum settings...
(Just bought the bundle of all three of them a bit ago, to go through them in chronological order... so lm not that well read up on the state of the game till now...)

Kiwami 2 uses a different and more advanced engine, the Dragon Engine. Graphics is way better compared to 0 and Kiwami (higher res textures, high poly models, peds density, etc).

New engine. Unfortunately lower spec pcs wont fair well. Luckily we still have yakuza 3-5 coming which is on the old dragon engine

It's a new engine, it's prettier, but also some of the graphics options are broken. Get the SilentPatch, it fixes the frame pacing. You could be capable of getting 60+ fps but getting screwed over by the frame limiter. I went from 20-25 to 50-55fps.

I have performance issues on a Ryzen 5 1600 CPU, 16 Gigs of DDR4 2400 MHz RAM and an RX 480, 4 Gigs VRAM GPU. The game tends to run over 100 FPS easily for me when running around the cities, but the cutscenes are all over the place. The intro Disco scene runs at around 40-50 FPS and I can't get it up to 60 FPS even if I lower resolution.

I tried the silent patch and it made no difference.
For me I'm getting better performance on kiwami 2 than 1 on the same rig, so I guess optimization is better in 2

Idk if the 480 supported vertical sync, but if it does you could enable it in Radeon settings and get a smoother gameplay experience albeit at a loss of frames

Yep, with a RTX 2060 I run 0 and Kiwami 1 with a consistent 144 fps and here it's usually around 70. It's a better engine and all, but could definitely be more optimized.

Edit: Settings are on ultra
