So far it's great, not quite on the level of 0 but almost as good, definitely way better and more fleshed out than k1

where Kiwami 1 is a restricted Yakuza 0, this is a more complete Yakuza 6.

Yes it is : better graphics, combat, story and minigames than kiwami 1 imo. I hope you did the story of Kiwami 1 at least because 2 is the direct sequel.

Most people would say it's better. Especially when Kiwami tends to have people feeling burned out after 0.

I wasn't happy with Kiwami at first either because 0 spoiled me, but it grew on me as I stuck with it.

Really all of the games are great and are worth playing.

It's a much better game overall than Kiwami 1 and they overhauled the graphics/gameplay. It's worth it ESPECIALLY if you're into Japanese Celebs and NJPW.
If you actually hated 1 though, you probably aren't going to love this?
It's an extremely good game.

Same. Just as playing Kiwami 1 right after 0 lowered my opinion of it, replaying it recently after having played the PS4 Remasters of Yakuza 3 and 4 raised my opinion of it significantly.

Kiwami's main problem is being sandwiched between two beasts in 0 and Kiwami 2, and it feeling more like a standalone expansion to 0 doesn't do it any favors in that regard.

Kiwami 2 is a lot better than Kiwami which suffers from being a too faithful remake and borrowing many elements from Yakuza 0, I think it is comparable to 0 in terms of quality, but the technical aspects are widely superior.

This is the best of the three in my opinion

I think everything is better in Kiwami 2 (no disco mini-game though). The world is way better and beautiful, everything is connected and there are almost no loading screens. For some combat is worse than 0 and Kiwami, but I loved it way more, destructible environments and ragdolls are amazing, though only one battle style (doesn't ruin my experience though, I mostly used one style through 0).

There's a lot of funny things you can do in Kiwami 2 and Yakuza 6 with the freeform combat, especially because you can have things happen like drag a fight into a store or restaurant. There's even some special heat moves for fighting inside of shops/restaurants.

It doesn't make the combat any "better" but it's entertaining to see the different heat moves or doing silly things like breaking the furniture. iirc you can anger the store owners too.

Wow I must be crazy as I found it kiwami 2 to be an immediate turn off when I learned that style switching was removed and they implement such a ridiculous ragdoll physic into the combat.

I mean, combat isn't all that the Yakuza series has to offer.

And while I do like the different styles and style switching, having played through them on Normal I never really changed styles unless it was for fun. In Yakuza 0 I was able to handle everything in Beast Mode or Thug style for Kiryu/Majima.

I feel the complete opposite as the best thing about zero and kiwami is the combat and everything besides that was just bloat that I didn't care for.

The difficulty of zero is definitely the easiest and style switching is only implemented properly in kiwami. The reason why I like style switching is that it keeps the combat from getting repetitive and adds depth the fights instead of just using the best attacks only. I mean after a hour or so with kiwami 2 and I'm already sick and tire of charging my attacks as my approach for every enemy.
