Yokoyama said it wont be a 1:1 recreation of the story, which is a shame. 1's story wasnt bad ta all and playing 0 made it much more worth it. They could add some flashbacks to 0 too but i also heard they are making nishiki and jingu the same person

that would make sense for a movie, but the trailer said it was a series. which makes no sense to me. Unless it's like 6 episodes or something and even then, I'd think they would have more than enough leeway to keep the story more or less the same. Unless they just didn't want to make the same story for whatever reason.

Funny enough, I spent so long waiting for Yakuza on the switch that I just up and bought a steam deck and forgot about my switch.

Yes most likely, but that came out of the blue as no one expected the franchise to even come onto the Switch

In that summit they announced Ishin, Gaiden and showcased some of LaD8, and of course they shadow dropped the Judgment games for PC after the event
