Best Yakuza in terms of side content is?
I am not all that interested into the main story or fighting. I am much more looking for a kind of Shenmue experience where I can walk around a big town and look at stuff and buy stuff and talk to people and have fun and... well lots of lewd stuff too.

Don't get me wrong I do enjoy fighting and shooting and driving and so on, like all the stuff that is in GTA San Andreas, but I am not really looking for that here.

I find it a bit hard to find info on which one has good content in these other areas.

Lets ask differently, which one of the Yakuza games on Steam has the biggest world?

Which the best graphics?
this one has the best graphics, by far, although Y0 doesn't look bad at all, the character models are comparable, but the world is pretty stunning in this one (K2). The best side content is probably Y0, although this comes real close to it. Y0 just had more ♥♥♥♥ to do and took much longer to 100%, this game really doesn't take that long to 100% but the content is roughtly the same.

If you're going to start with one, choose Yakuza 0. It's better all around and there's so much ♥♥♥♥ that you won't appreciate unless you're familiar with Kiwami 1 (which practically requires you to play Y0 first)

thx for the helpful reply mate. I have an Xbox and just noticed that some Yakuza games are currently available through the Gamepass so I think I'll try them out there and if I like them get this one here because it has this Cabarett feature that sounds really interesting and it being a true PS4 game helps as well because here to me graphics are really important.

Listen man, Yakuza Kiwami 2 was the best of them all in every way and sadly it looks like the series peek. Yakuza 3 and 4 are mere remasters, not Kiwami remakes. They will probably come to PC sooner or later but what is in for us who played them on PS3 ? It takes a bit more than 1080/60 fps to get our interest.
I know what you mean.
Yes, you should start with Yakuza 0, if don't mind when the game slowly introduces you the world of Kamurocho and Sotenbori.

You should know, the game kinda similar to Shenmue, but not really. You can't talk with every NPCs on the streets, and a lot of dialogues are not voiced in the side contents.
Yakuza's gameplay is more action heavy, than relaxing.

Also there are very Shenmue moments, like you can go to Arcades and play the ♥♥♥♥ out of Space Harrier and Outrun.

+It's really cheap at the moment.
So, if you that person who likes exploring, go for it :)

@Hardtarget01 It's my hope that at least the remaster of 3 will give us all the cut content from the original Western release. You know, mahjong, massage parlors, actually dating the hostesses instead of just showing up once at the burger joint and completing their routes. I can't imagine they're going to re-cut it to what it was on the PS3, so that's huge for me. 4 is my favorite after 2. I don't care about 5 at all. 5 is the devil.

Anyone actually skip the best part of Yakuza for the boring stuff?

Apropos of the OP, 5 has by far and away the most content in terms of side activities of any of the games but is currently only on PS3 if you want to play it in English.

Yakuza 3 PS4 is content-wise identical with the Japanese PS4 version, so it restores *most* of what was missing in Yakuza 3 PS3 (exception being Answer x Answer which would have been impossible to localise in a satisfactory way). Since Steam releases don't have to worry about ratings boards or Sony content policies, there is no reason why, *if* it gets a PC port, that would be any different on that count.

Fair enough. I got carried away. I would agree that 5 has the most side stuff of the entire series and perhaps that's why I'm not entirely fond of it. The hunting in particular went on way too long for me, but as others have said, they quite enjoyed it. Good to know that 3 has its content restored.

I thin that, when Yakuza 7 will be released, could be a candidate for most side content in the franchise. It will feature a pokemon knock-off too:

I love Yakuza 0 most so far :2019clover:

Well I got this game and I am really enjoying it. Story whise I think this is actually a pretty good entry as a slice of life. Having to build up that Tojo clan that lies in shambles, not really that big of a deal that so many characters that I don't know are dead. Makes it kinda easy to get into this.

The Japanaese culture game was cut along with the crossdresser that chases you.
They also changed the symbol of a clan to not resemble the Imperial flag from WW2.
That's all I remember check the cut content here these guys are great at exposing companies and warning us of the products we were interested in buying.

Can you guys please tell me if Yakuza 0 is different enough from the city and content to warrant a buy?

I am really enjoying Kiwami 2 and its actually a really good entry into the series story whise. I'll treat the others like the Star Wars prequel trilogy.
