Koi Koi isn't too bad, at least. It's random and the cheat item doesn't do much, but the higher difficulties are high enough stakes that you only really need to win one 3-round game.
But yeah, once you get to the point where you can't avoid the gambling requests, Haruka's a different animal entirely. Probably a slightly less bloated animal though...
Then the AI immediately literally immediately last rand gets every possible card it needs to get 20 points and beat me
I'll go back to poker once i calm down a bit...Haruka has driven me insane for now
1000 in a single sitting is simply unreasonable and joker cards are of no use; the A.I. knows the deck far before you do.
Koi Koi is like this irl, but this game is much easier imo, there's alot of dominating and then losing badly.
As I mentioned in reply #1, you can take advantage (a tenuous advantage, but one nonetheless!) of the game's tendency to give a clear winning hand - I think it actually manipulates the cards during the game - to be more confident when you have both a losing hand and a winning hand, so you can minimise losses and maximise gains.
The joker cards are most useful when you're one off a good hand (full house and straights particularly, but also flushes), and the card you want won't give someone else a good hand (e.g. the whole hand comes from the community cards). Or, if the hand's just started and you get two cards from a royal flush. Using it at that point will basically guarantee you the win, but you should save it for a round where there'll be lots of chips in the pot.
Definitely make a note of your starting chip count btw, so you know exactly how many you need when you quit out.
1 win...
Literally 1 winning hand
I think Haruka needs a good slap at this point and ask me to solo every colleseum fighter without healing instead
