Japanese subtitles

Hi,

Are Japanese subtitles selectable? I played the other Yakuza games on Playstation where it's region restricted. How was it in 0 and Kiwami? Steam page says they're supported but just want to make sure.

Yes, like Yakuza 0 & Kiwami 1.
Just go the game proprieties and switch language to Japanese.
Be careful though, everything will be in japanese. Text, languages, options, games ...

The pc version allows you to play the English version or the Japanese version by changing the language in properties so it's more flexible than the ps4 version. It won't make "0" confirm but steam allows you to set up your gamepad. The title will also say "yakuza" at the beginning instead of 竜が如く but that's the only English in the Japanese version. Someone is also making a music patch for the game to restored licensed tracks, just like 0 and kiwami 1.

Also, unlike with Zero and Kiwami PC the game install includes both text languages so you don't need to download a 1-2 gigabyte patch every time you switch.

It works, there's no language change in the options but properties worked just fine:)

No worries, I can read that, I'm playing in full Japanese for extra immersion and learning.
That's why I was so happy when I heard about the Steam release as I thought there would be no language restrictions, on PS4 I had to import Yakuza 6 from Japan:/
