yes the game is dead....
dead for they didnt listen to the comunity when they asked what the problem was
how they fixed one of the bigest problem getting matched with level 100 when only 5? simple hide levels.
one man can one shot everyone and eveyone hatted it... gets a buff
need to hide inorder to sneak around... for what its easier to kill the boss how do they fix this... by making it harder to sneak around....

we asked for problems to be fixed and we got worse treatment.... and we told them from them asking

It's dead. Steamcharts says on average 4 players per hour but those are probably people logging in to find a match and giving up and logging out. How this game hit the featured page is beyond me. So many negative reviews overall.

The pvp-only fighting game is dead.

There are a good amount of players on Xbox and Playstation, I often match with them.

You can still get PvP games pretty frequently by playing EU during peak times.
NAE on the other hand is a little rough while NAW/OCE are completely dead.
With crossplay invites coming next season, any EU player can carry you over including console (this is something majority of NA players already do currently).

- it's coming to the end of a pretty long and average at best season, so most of the community are either burned out or taking a break until new content. We do however still host community events including NA & EU Weekly. There's even a tournament planned for a few weeks time.
- console has always carried this game since release in terms of player count, steamcharts does not take those numbers into account nor does it epic players etc. While this doesn't improve things much at all, it's important to remember steamchart numbers are not entirely accurate (we often joke this game should have been called Hood: Steamcharts and Statistics).

If your main reason for not playing the game is the lack of player count, perhaps your part of the problem too. I often read "Don't buy it until it gets more players" or "I'm not playing until it gets more players", it's a little counter-intuitive don't you think? If everyone who complained the game is dead actually played it wouldn't be dead now would it.

So here's the truth. If you want a game where you can get a match at any time of the day this isn't for you. We have a small yet active community. The dev team are extremely small too (estimated to be under 10 people), who have limited resources but are still doing their best to make things work and bring new content. Sure, some of their decisions have been questionable, and their communication has been god awful at times. However they have been working on this and improving to great appreciation of the community.

If you have the the game or are looking to buy it on sale do so. The community is great and are more than welcoming of new players.

I almost agreed until you tried to blame new players as if any player should accept and endorse a game that the main game mode is impossible to play... It's not the players fault that the game is dead, it's entirely the dev's fault. Bottom line, no "ifs, ands or buts."

One way or another the devs failed to maintain the prerequisite playerbase to allow more players to join and enjoy the game. If they find a way to remedy that, I'll come back and play the game. If they do not, it'll stay in my library with plenty of other good games that I'll never play again...

Why the ♥♥♥♥ would i want to play with players across the globe given how poorly this dev maintains their servers? For more ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ latency issues?!

This ♥♥♥♥ should have been made free to play when it died on arrival instead of letting it rot away like this.

This game was dead the day it came out. Utter trash game, possibly the worst game I've ever played. Even if this game was free it wouldn't justify how bad it was. Every dev of this game should be banned from releasing games on Steam ever again as this ♥♥♥♥ should be classed as a scam.

it wasnt the day it came out.... the first day was very fun infact the first week was... but the meta became toxic and major bugs were being ignored....
