the amount of time it takes to unlock all content vs the time it takes for developers to add new content is an indicator of multiple aspects
1. the longevity of the game
2. is there a paywall somewhere
3. how much is the grind to max
so from the title, 4 days into the game release, it says he unlocked everything (and on the post) playing a few hours a day...
so a few hours 2-4, during 4 days... looks bad for a game to unlock all content in that timeframe.
now if you add that the OP nolifed the game, ahh that's different. still though... next content update is BP season2.. which is about 90-120 days away...
now for a casual 50 hours at 2 hours per day, thats about a month. which isn't bad per say, but looking at the content updates of 3 this year, we see that 3-4 months cycles for content... for a casual 1 month grind is not great content feed timing.
But then towards the end, you used "nolifed" and ruined it all.
You ruined it :(
I wouldn't get too hung up on the numbers. I'm also in the "50 Hour Club" and I "only" have all of Marianne unlocked, most of John, some of Tooke, and almost no Robin, because I've been playing what I feel like playing in the moment and not hunting unlocks.
If you have diagnosable OCD and you're going to quit the game the second you unlock the last feature and switch classes the moment you 100% one, and don't know what playing a game for fun means, then yeah, you'll clock in at around 40-50 hours, probably. That's not a dig at the OP either, because he said he's still looking forward to playing.
That's 4x the length of Resident Evil Village at 50% the cost, which also released last week.
And that's assuming there won't be any more content, when in fact it's already in the works.
And before anyone mentions it, no, I don't arbitrarily assign a "minimum hours spent" threshold to a genre while giving 30 minute games in a different genre a free pass. $30 is $30, and a fun 50 hours is a fun 50 hours, be it shooter, platformer, horror or strategy.
No cheats, just played with 3 other friends which makes things a lot easier
What if he's in a country that's still struggling hard with the pandemic?
What if he is just in a priviliged situation that allows him to do so?
What if he deliberately made life choices to be able to retain that amount of freedom?
So many possible good reasons that don't need negative connotations.
It's all good. I'm just saying.
I didn't know my playtime bothered people, well aside for leaving the game open when I slept on the 8th inflating my hours a little it still doesn't cut me a lot of slack.
I'm an accountant working from home with botched hours and a even worse sleeping schedule, I found the game out a few days before preorder release and made the time to play with my friends, now that I've officially "completed" the game I definitely no-lifed it in the time I made to play with my friends. I apologize if my terrible wording offended you, It was 7am and I didn't sleep at all while writing this out so wording were the least of my worries.
I shouldn't have to but I wanted to explain just for him because he seemed invested in this.
