Anyone try No Future difficulty?
How is it? I checked it out on wiki, there's time limits to beat bosses? I'm not a fan of time limits honestly plus it looks like it relies heavily on one shotting you too?

No future is hard. It's not impossible, mainly because of the passive that makes the AI team mates invincible when they're at 1 hp, so you don't have to manage them, the items are mainly for you, which is why there is a restriction on them.

The time limit isn't that of an issue, you'll usually die first if not careful, especially on the big spells.

About the oneshots, yeah that happens, but only when you're not prepared (there are ways to block with skills, passives, items etc.) and party composition actually means something, it's the 4th difficulty mod, it's supposed to be hard.

I'm interested, sounds like it'll actually feel rewarding to beat this game. I'm going to give it a shot, I just don't like time limits that'd be the only thing that makes me not want to finish it.

its the best part of the game for me, cant speak for others

anything hard or below is far too easy, while expert is tedious because the AI is so bad and constantly dies.

it puts your optimized setup to the test while not placing the burden of awful AI's on you.

the time limit is really a non-factor, if you know what you are doing and not intentionally stalling all bosses will die well before the time is up. the only real reason for the time limit to be there is so you cant stall on purpose and have your AI do everything for you(since they cant die)

I'm sold. The sad difficulty that was hard mode disappointed me as I facerolled the game without even needing to grind exp. It says you gotta do this on a new game + however, is this true? Wouldn't that make it too easy? My newgame+ data has stuff that gives huge amounts of exp gain and other massive bonuses.

Actually I guess I can just not use any of the ng+ advantages and slowly implement stuff if I feel I can't succeed without it.

The no future difficulty is balanced around having several NG+ on the save with a lot of stuff, including having lv 99 chars. It's not going to be easy. They didn't lock it behind NG+ by accident. For those who don't know, in NG+ if you don't pick the chars you picked in the previous playthough, you get the chain abilities of the classes you picked for them (and unlocked through leveling up), so if you have a build in mind for the no future revolving on several class chain abilities, you need to pick the corresponding chars on the first playthrough.
Like for example, Angela Light class 4 have a chain ability that does +30% damage against bosses, so if she's not going to be in your no future party, you might want to bring her in the first playthrough to get the passive and give it to your heavy hitter char (like kevin).

Okay no this can't be beat without gear and abilities transferring over from a ng+ unless you want to spend 15 minutes killing 2 wolves who can also 1 shot you if you get hit lol guess it really was designed for ng+ specifically to use the stuff from your previous playthrough

It's designed for NG+, but not designed for crazy amounts of grind. You can do it pretty comfortably off of any cleared file if you're good with the core mechanics.

Remember to stockpile items to carry over. They help a lot.

I recommend Charlotte/Hawkeye/Reisz for a No Future party, if you plan on playing the post-game content too. I think the post-game solo fights for Duran/Angela/Kevin are like trying to push down a brick wall. They're so hard I didn't feel any satisfaction and fun from finally beating them like I feel from other bosses.

If hard is easy to the point people are saying "it doesn't matter what team comp you choose" then what does that say about beginner lol? Also there's 4 difficulties before hard iirc
