question about rainbow seeds

I know these are needed for the best gear. I am right before the fight against Anise the witch so I thought lets use them, but I only get candy. Am I too early?

Use them and don't try to reload to get a better item, it doesn't work. Just use them and hope for the best.

Depends on how many candies you got I guess. Also might depend on your seed level, I'm assuming you're at max level.

yes i have max seed lvl and have used 15 rainbow seeds but only got candy

Seeds have 3 preset drops; one gear item, one common useable, and one rare ( usually serums). You can save scum each seed until you get the drop type you want. However, if you get something like an acc from a seed, then the gear slot for that seed will always be that acc, barring circumstances like changing your classes since the seeds only drop something you can use if it can.

Not true, there are 3 items you can get from seeds and it's a gamble which you get but you can reload the game to try for a better item, it's normal to only see the common item even after 30+ reloads. The only seeds that don't follow this rule are ??? seeds, they only give a class item.

If you are before Anise the witch then you should be able to loot class 4 gear/weapons from rainbow seeds. Know though that the item you're offered won't ever change, so if you get candy as your common item then every time the seed offers you a common item it'll always be a *candy.

*The exception here is if you'velooted 10 of the same serums, any seed that would've offered you the same serum will then randomize all but the rare item on that seed eg.

Player has looted 9/10 vitality serums.

Gold Seed #1 offers: Candy, Vitality Serum, Draupnir
Gold Seed #2 offers: Candy, Vitality Serum, Stargazer
Gold Seed #3 offers: Chocolate, Opulent Incense, Queen's Scepter

Player loots the Vitality Serum from Gold Seed #1 and is now at 10/10 vitality serums.

Gold Seed #2 now offers: Chocolate, Mythic Cookie, Stargazer
Gold Seed #3 offers: Chocolate, Opulent Incense, Queen's Scepter

Also is worth to note that the rare equipable item offered to you from a seed has a chance to upgrade upon upgrading your class at a mana stone, so class 1 items have a chance to upgrade to a class 2 item. Rainbow seeds however are the only seeds that offer class 4 items (providing you are class 4 otherwise you'll be offered items for your current class.)

Rainbow seeds are weird, when I tried using them on class 1-2 characters, I was getting gear for characters that I wasn't playing as. Claws when I didn't have Kevin on the team for example.

Strange, I didn't have that happen to me. Were they seeds you looted when you played a previous game with Kevin?

No, my first playthrough was with kevin and the second was without him. Spent all the seeds from the first in the second playthrough and then on the third I was getting claws with seeds from the second playthrough even though on both the second and third I didn't have him.

So for rainbow seeds, while the specific item is locked upon pick, its category can change, affecting at least the dropped type?
I tried to save/load a few times but I still kept getting a consumable item instead of a gear one...
