I'm still hoping the next game is a Secret of Evermore remake.

Secret of evermore is not part of the series, it's a game made by a US studio (and published by square america) that reuses the engine of secret of mana (that would be like asking Epic to remake deus ex just because it uses the unreal engine).
There is very little chances that game will get a remake. the better candidate would be legend of mana.

Adding to what Drake said, Secret of Evermore didn't sell well when it released and it never even came out in Japan, so a Remake like this is out of the question.

What a bummer, that game is awesome.

SoE is one of my favourites in my childhoods.
Replayed it 100% more than 8 times.

If i would make i rank:

1. SoE (Secret of Evermore)
2. Breath of Fire II (BoF III is still the best of all. Doesn´t matter what others say :WhiteWolfFunny: )
3. SoM (Secret of Mana)
4. Terrranigma
5. Lufia
6. Illusion of Gaia (Illusion of Time)
7. Chrono Trigger
......

Edit: Btw. Did you know that SoM (Seiken Densetsu 2) was the only one on SNES which you could played with 3 players at a time ? :interesting:

I forgot Donkey Kong 1-3 in the list xD

I'd rather the next remake be one for Secret of Mana. You know, a good remake that functions and doesn't have awful voice-acting, remakes the gameplay to be a bit more modern, stuff like that.

The Secret of Mana remake didn't have the stunlocking the original did.

Let's be fair, the original had some pretty sadistic bosses that were begging to be cheesed.

Really? I mean, even without attack magic original secret of mana isn't really hard.

Spikey Tiger, Dread Slime, maybe Dark Lich, one of those Wall Faces back when I didn't get avoiding the eyes, I think that two-legged plant thing. Mech Rider could maybe count, and if you didn't get the merchant tucked around the corner, just about all of the Pure Lands could in theory count. Compared to stuff like Final Fantasy I and II, Secret of Mana wasn't nearly as bad, but there were some spots that gave young me all kinds of trouble.

Spiked tiger for sure, yes. But like you, it gave my young me trouble. Now, spiked tiger is a Noob :)

That says a lot about how much we learn as we get older. I mean compare young people playing games for the first time in the 90s to the people who speedrun stuff and finish it in less than half an hour to an hour.
