i used her on a NG+ for her story with a lvl80 kevin and angela other than the towns i just ignored her and used kevin
I use Charlotte as a saber II bot with Kevin, sage build. Sabers are less awkward when you can have someone else cast them while you are meleeing with the melee char, thus not having to stop and cast and potentially get smacked in the face with your melee, like when Duran has to cast sabers on himself
That means literally nothing. I've removed my MP abilities on even angela because they're just not worth the slots. Walnuts and other MP regen items are abundant and inexpensive, and there are far better things to use those limited class slots on. Even if Charlotte had her own MP regen skills (there are link skills for MP btw), I wouldn't use them because she has too many other good options to take instead.
Also, item healing is a PITA unless you're having just one character doing it all, and if you're going to have one character spending so much time spamming items, you might as well just have a healer, who will do the job better.
Party rpg ? synergy ? npc chain abilities ? Since when this game became dark souls of mana.
I like how people always talk about stuff while saying "if you remove this into account". No there is no removing, that stuff is there for a reason, it's to use it. Removing gameplay content is challenge play, not the normal way of playing.
Charlotte lacks mp regen so when you pick charlotte you pick chars or stack items to bring MP.
Also saying that charlotte is the only char with no mp regen is wrong, there are paths on other chars that have no mp regen, unless you're saying all paths with no mp regen are inferior ? in a game where mp regen items are just thrown onto you, I don't understand, even on angela I used walnuts because it was way quicker to spam than waiting for her mp regen on heavy attack.
Also for OP, "mechanics aside", no charlotte is a good char, I do take her for her mechanics, she has a quick attacks, good support skills, decent passives and high damaging abilities (lucent beam/demon or undead summons) on every 2nd class except bishop (which is pure defence).
Exactly this. Charlotte has a ton of synergy with other members. She has very powerful passives, either attack buffs over % hp, passive debuff auras, can status inflict mobs by just hitting them and she frees so many item slots for plenty of stuff to use.
No character is "needed" in this game. But she sure makes a playthrough much easier and even more powerful than many possible choices. And without having to wait for the full kit on Class 3.
Well duh. If you're after 'raw damage output' the dedicated healer is never the choice in any game.
She is by far the best healer in the game. Take her L/L and pair her with two heavy damage dealers (Angela L/L or D/D and Duran D/D is a good one) and you can stomp hard and survive anything.
