Anyone else get the feeling that Angela is the Hero King's secret baby?
I mean the story pretty lazily handles this, but that's the feeling I kind of got from their interactions during the main quest, and how in-formal his tone was in regards to her mom, physically Angela's green eyes, and him also having green eyes could be a coincidence but i feel like it's intention to show their relation. I know it's the mature audience always looking for some deeper meaning, but it would have spiced up the story more if we got more clarification on this development, then there was whatever the Dark Knight was talking about during the fight against him..

Any other evidence of this?

It's kind of weird how there's that part where he seems surprised learning that the queen had a child and then it's never mentioned again.

Angel is King Richard's daughter. This is confirmed in the NDS prequel game Heroes of Mana.

Btw, Jessica is Hawkeye's half aunt.

It's implied in Heroes of Mana that Angela is King Richard's daughter, but it's not canon. It might as well be canon though, it's pretty clear that's what the developers were going for in Heroes of Mana, but didn't bother to allude to or confirm it more concretely in the Trials remake.

It's alluded @ in this one. When Angela says she is the princess of Altena, the king goes "Oh, the Queen has a daughter?" And he gets this look on his face.

It is odd that Angela never even bothers to wonder who her dad is. She does have a huge mommy complex but it's still very sad. :p

Yes I caught that, more interestingly the Dark Knight alludes to it as well, but it was hard to hear during the fight because of the spell spamming.

I think it's pretty likely. When the crimson wizard is asking the king if he has questions about anything there is a moment where the king just gets quiet after he asks a question about the queen. Maybe he was thinking about asking about his daughter but decided to stay quiet to avoid giving the wizard any important info.

It did.

It's confirmed in the game, since when you fight the Darkshine Knight (Duran's father and King Richard's best friend) he take a look at her soul and say "The color of your soul... I see, so you're Richard's..."

Ah, I didn't do a run with Angela without Duran. Interesting. So it is heavily implied in this game too now. They might as well just confirm it. XD

another nice little detail, while angela heavily resembles her mother, she has richard's eyes....

I'm more curious about her ears than how her dad is tbh. I mean, why she's the only non-elf character with pointy ears (unless I'm blind and her mother have them too).
Doresh May 7, 2020 @ 3:07pm
I don't think you can see her mother's ears, thanks to her hair and/or headdress.

Purim of Secret of Mana fame also has long ears without anyone ever explaining where they come from.
I assume people born with the ability to cast magic are just sometimes born with long ears. Or she had elves or beastmen (whose civilians are also portrayed with long ears) somewhere in her ancestry (far enough without having any of the associated baggage like Kevin and Charlotte).

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure all of the altenan NPCs with visible ears have pointy ears.

Edit: Okay, it's definitely not all of them. The fortune tellers, and some of the human trades in mintas have them though.

It's actually less subtle. Darkshine Knight (Golden Knight) will say her aura is similar to King Richard. It's also Canon that Richard and The True Queen were together for political reasons. Green eyes match his. It's very obvious.

Never explains why Angela has elf ears lol.
