Other items that I haven't tested but might also help would be Matango Oils (Reflects spell back to caster; not as powerful as the original game now as it only reflects once), Harpy Fang (wind damage and silences enemy).
My Angela was a Grand Diviner, and I mostly spammed Saint Beam since that's her most damaging level 2 spell. There are a few moments where Doppelganger is safe to use, but I found that all those explosions could obscure a bit too much.

I guess you could use the class reset in order to farm class change items for both Light and Dark paths.
Compared to the rest of the game, this one was a bit similar to a Dark Souls boss.
Also do not use lock on camera unless you need to recenter view. From my experience its harder to outrun the red circles
